Possibly but either way I wouldn't vote for Kemp as I have already made my case Kemp belongs in the discussion though

You can't say an MVP should never come from a last place team and then say a player from a last place team (or one very close to it) "belongs in the discussion".

Going off the premise that an MVP should never come from a team in that bad of shape, nobody from those teams belongs in the discussion.

Sure I can say it. I just don't have to vote that way Nothing wrong with having discussion about the game's best players.

It's just not a valid argument, is all. If nobody from "team x" (defined by your argument as a last place team) can be an MVP then nobody from "team x" belongs in the discussion.

Of course, I read "belongs in the discussion" as "somebody I wouldn't vote for but he certainly deserves consideration" or "somebody I might vote for if not for the player I am voting for". But I suppose if you just take that phrase at face value then it's a different story.

Its not a valid argument because there is no argument to be made. I personally wouldn't vote for someone like Kemp but he does belong in the conversation because some view the MVP award as the "Best player award". I do not but I'm not so close minded as to not allow the discussion since I know not everyone shares my views. I'm not the only one in the discussion or else it wouldn't be a discussion
