National League N.L. Rookie of the Year? You decide kids.

And before you ask or whine about it, Pablo Sandoval had too many at bats in 2008, not by a lot, but enough to where he's not a "rookie" by Major League Baseball terms (130 ABs or 50 IP), otherwise it's safe to say he wins hands down.

We did have a solid group of rookies in my opinion, 4 of which were necessary to help keep their teams afloat at certain points in the season or at least did their best considering.

I'd have to say Tommy Hanson of the Braves. He stepped right in and took the ball every 5th day for them this season. They have too many quality starters right now and will likely trade one of them to fill an area of need this off-season.
Hanson is a big part of their future.

Homer vote or not, it's Hanson, hands-down.

Hanson is not hands down. I went with Coghlan. He played multiple positions and did well at all of them and played a huge part in the Marlins staying in contention.

I have to go with Happ. Normally I hate this argument, especially if there is a player who is the no doubt statistical leader, but Happ was a big reason the Phillies won the NL East. They probably would have down it without him as their lead was 6 games to end, but the Phillies rotation which appears to be strong now didn't have Cliff Lee before July or Pedro Martinez. Yeah, he struggled some down the stretch, but the season was a quality one.

I like both Hanson and Coghlan as well (and Hanson does have a superior stat line to Happ), but I don't think neither were that much better. Both probably have more talent than Happ does as I do imagine him to come back down to Earth some, but Happ did have an unreal 1.99 ERA on the road so who knows.

    Long story short: Happ.

Im torn between Coghlan and Hanson. Ended up settling on Hanson.

I liked how he went on that stretch of consecutive games of 2 or more hits. Not bad for a rookie.

Not bad for a ten time All Star either
