Re: Now who's your pick for AL MVP?
I must show some love for Milton Bradley. His on-base plus slugging percentages are better than those of all the aforementioned candidates. OPSOPSOPSOPSOPS

Did I say anything to that affect?
You reek of bandwagoner...
And maybe you don't understand slumps.
ARod has 31 H with RISP and 47 RBI
The team is hitting .260 with 452 RBI
RBI w/ RISP: Abreu has 54, Jeter and Damon have 50, ARod has 47
H w/ RISP: Abreu has 43, Damon has 39, Cano and Jeter have 34, ARod has 31.
HR w/ RISP: ARod leads the team with 5.
ARod might trail in AVG, but his OPS of .813 is ahead of Damon, Abreu, Jeter, and everyone really except for Nady.
BTW, Jeter has grounded into 9 DP, and Cano and ARod have 6.
Last time I checked, ARod wasn't crap with RISP...he just isn't other worldly this year.
Get off his back, and stop crucifying him when he isn't even playing poorly.
Get on Giambi's case, or Cano, or Nady or Abreu...ARod is playing better than all of them.

ARod is playing better than all of them because at least he can do something when there's not as much on the line. they're all sucking in general, he's just sucking massively when it matters. and he's getting the biggest contract, so naturally he gets the most criticism. It's only fair.
I understand Jeter's hit into more DP's. I HATE when he does that. But the fact is, ARod grounded itno a DP when it was a HUGE spot. So we get on his case.
I'm not a bandwagoner. I understand slumps. Unfortunately, he's hitting .310. So it's clearly not a slump. It's just......he's hitting .248 with RISP. That's not a slump. It's him not hitting when it matters, and then padding the stats. You even gave a bunch of stats where he's hitting worse with RISP than Abreu, Damon, Jeter, and Cano. And he's getting paid more. Therefore, he gets the most criticism. It's only fair. If you have the largest contract in baseball, you should prove you're worth it all the time. Not every other year.
And how can you say he's playing poorly??? He absolutely is playing poorly. I'd say those clutch numbers more than prove it

And his injury rating more than doubles Pedroia's! Horry Cow!
Re: Now who's your pick for AL MVP?
But Milton Bradley was raised on the mean streets of Long Beach yet never touched cocaine. And his mama ain't no b-i-t-c-h.

"Get your own damn money."
The robber had just burst into a Safeway supermarket, stuck his gun against Charlina Rector's head and snapped, "B----, gimme the money." Rector, the cashier, folded her arms and stared right back at him. "My momma didn't raise no b----," she said. "Get your own damn money." The man fumbled with the register, took the cash and scrammed.
Milton Bradley wasn't there when his mother looked down the barrel of a .38 and told her would-be assassin to stick it.

Fine then....Ship AROD back to Seattle for Miguel Cairo, Willie Bloomquist, Kenji Johjima, and while your at it take Jarrod Washburn, Miguel Batista and Carlos Silva too.
Re: Now who's your pick for AL MVP?
I would like to add also to all the damn AROD haters.
You have Kevin Youkillis on the MVP Poll. His average with RISP is .200, but you don't see people getting on his case.

once again, i pull out the salary justification
Re: Now who's your pick for AL MVP?
MVP isn't always about hitting, Youkilis's defensive numbers at 2 positions are amazing, GG candidate at both, and he has sick hitting numbers as well
Re: Now who's your pick for AL MVP?
I'm sorry but Youkilis is hitting .360 with RISP!! Youk is even hitting .315 with RISP and two outs!!! Where the hell is this .200 coming from?
Re: Now who's your pick for AL MVP?
MLB's stupid stat sorter.
Re: Now who's your pick for AL MVP?
Where is A-Rod on the list? I can't seem to find him. Guess I'll vote for Quentin instead.
Re: Now who's your pick for AL MVP?
Read the posts in this thread and you will know why he isn't on there.
Re: Now who's your pick for AL MVP?
Bias voting aside, Quentin is thumpin' Morneau and Hamilton thus far.
