Sabathia's approval rating slowly creeps up?

How does Volquez get more mention than Johan?

Until recently, had a better era, has more wins (for a really bad team), and nearly as many strikeouts in about 30 fewer innings.

edit: also similar BAA, and half as many HRA

Johan's ERA has been lower for the past 2-3 weeks....Johan has the most innings pitched in the Majors, and if you look at the stats, he has had the same number of wins taken away by his bullpen that Lincecum did. Also, Santana has the most quality starts in the majors, and has the second most "awful support" games in the majors(6 innings, less than 2 runs).

But he's on the mets, they're supposed to be good and oh well, reds bullpen isn't scaring people.

But the numbers say Johan has actually been hurt more by his team's bullpen.

Re: Who's your pick for NL Cy Young now?

So what's the excuse for the 7 losses and more than twice as many homeruns allowed? The fact is, the only stat he really has Volquez in is era, and that only happened recently.

The excuse for the losses is the stat that I gave you and that was on the chat with Rob Neyer or whoever. Santana has the second most "awful support starts". An awful support start is 6 innings pitched with 1 or 0 runs scored by your own offense. Santana has the second most starts with AWFUL support, second only to Lincecum.

So did Lincecum lock it up last night? 16-3 with a 2.54 ERA and the most K's in baseball is pretty ****ing good.

Re: Who's your pick for NL Cy Young now?

    Update:

Brandon Webb won his 20th game last night and stopped a streak of 3 horrendous starts in a row. But it was against the Cincinnati Reds, so what does it really mean.

Tim Lincecum pitches tonight against the Padres so we should expect #17 unless something crazy miraculous happens (unlikely).

Re: Who's your pick for NL Cy Young now?

How many starts will Lincecum have left? 2.. 3?
Man, if Lincecum were to win 20, it's his and it's not even close, but the damn voters will see Webb as the only man with 20 plus and get a boner.

If Lincecum goes on schedule every time out, he would pitch the 13th (today), 18th, 23rd, 28th (last game of the season).

It should be Lincecum's already but let's hope he gets to 20 wins. Lincecum's winning percentage and every other ****ing stat should have it locked up!!

Lincecum pitches his first CG of his career, allowing 0 er, 4h, 13k, 3BB, lowering his era to 2.43!
