Yankees Will the NY Yankees Rotation still be with the Rocket?

See the Choices. Ill chime my two cents when others make some discussion. Its been a hot topic over the last week or two. Don't worry about the player of the week. They will come back in time. Im just taking a break from them to get better discussion for the polls.

Probably 10-15 range, so I'll say average. I think Clemens is an obvious positive addition, but Mussina's getting older and seems to be losing his stuff, Wang's peak may have been last year, who knows how anyone else will return from injury? They could be very good, but I'll put them at average to be safe.

I think by the trade deadline the Yankees may have some things figured out. I am not sure when Hughes is due back. But with Clemens, Hughes, Wang, and Mussina and perhaps a deadline deal being made for another good pitcher, I think they will be fine. I went with mediocre because you never know if they can get someone real good in a trade as they don't have a lot to trade anymore. And because like Fishercat, I think the health issue could go any way.

And I completely forgot about Pettitte...their best pitcher. Doh.

The good: Clemens, Pettitte, and Wang should make a formidable trio. Wang is capable of getting W's if the offense scores enough runs in his starts.

The bad: The Yankees have to suck it up with the growing pains of rookies DeSalvo and Clippard.

The ugly: Mussina is most likely finished as a starting pitcher. His fame is the only thing keeping him in the starting rotation.

Now that we are healthier we are top 1/3 of the league now but when Roger comes he'll add to that and hopefully Hughes comes back and pitches well. We are not losing now b/c of the arms, it's b/c of the bats.

THe level will be the same, mediocre. These guys are going to continue to wear down that bullpen as the can't go deep into games on a regular basis. Roger's not going to help in that department and won't be the Clemens of even last year. Yankees miss the playoffs.

The rotation has been alot better than mediocore since we got healthier, we can't hit now which is why we are losing. if the bats performed anywhere near their capabilities we'd be close to where we normally are.

Mussina having one good start doesn't rise it to above mediocre for me.

They are such an injury risk with there age adding the Rocket will not help them much at all.
