That is true Leo. I am not too sure how far Rollins goes on this since I heard about LaRussa's time of giving. He won't be hooked up like that for very long. He faces Mulder tonight, so we'll see.

That could be argued either way as well. He could have gotten rusty during the offseason and gotten off to his normal April start or it could help him? Who knows.

I still think he gets past Molitors 39 gamer then dies off.

I agree. Either way I think both examples are tough to accomplish and he deserves props for keeping it going.

Let's go Jimmy, thirty eight straight kid!!

Rollins with a double in his first at-bat off Mulder.

    38 and counting.

and DiMaggio might've gotten rusty if he had an offseason in the middle of his, that doesn't take away from my point.

When he's in the middle of a hitting streak pitchers start gunning at him. There's been an entire offseason for the fanfare to dissipate a bit.

Again, it'd be a commendable feat, but it just wouldn't be the same, at least not to me.

Nice job again tonight by Rollins. Keep it going buddy.

BTW, I agree with Leo for the most part. It would be awesome to see him get it. But it would not be the same to me either.

It has been rumored that if Rollins does manage to break the record, that the it would become two seperate records being that Rollins had a offseason in between.
"They asked me if I wanted the ball in Game 6, and I said yes. I'll always say yes. That's what I did with Jack McKeon. I told him, 'Let me see how I feel tomorrow.' I went out, did a long toss, came in and said, 'I'll pitch, I want it, I want to do it.' And it ended up working out." -Josh Beckett
