Unlikely since the offense seems to be dying.

Felix Rodriguez has yet to throw since suffering tendinitis in his shoulder.
The Nationals won't have him pick up a baseball until he is completely pain-free. Rodriguez hopes that should be in the next week or so

Needless to say, the Nats bullpen, which made them one of the surprise teams on 2005, is now working against them. They don't have much depth, and from all of their FA losses, they lost setup man Luis Ayala. The team was hopeful Rodriguez could step in there, but he hasn't because of his tendinitis. At this point, the club doctors should be looking into the injury being much more serious.

Jose Vidro will get one game off during this week's series against Toronto.
Vidro has chronically bad knees and doesn't want Toronto's artificial turf to cause any issues. Jose Guillen and Nick Johnson will also sit one game during the series in an effort to prevent injuries.

John Patterson left Thursday's game in the fourth inning with a tired arm.
It's probably worse than just a tired arm. Patterson was in his second start back from a "forearm strain" that caused him to miss 62 days. If he's going to return to the DL, the Nats may have to call up Billy Traber to fill in until either Tony Armas Jr. or Pedro Astacio is activated.

No doubt its worse. At his age, it is going to hurt him if he sits on the DL for an extended period of time. He probably came back too fast, and his arm wasn't healed. He just made the injury worse if thats the case. Either that, or his arm stamina isn't up yet, which would mean he has a tired arm. Patterson is the future ace for the Nationals, and he really needs to prove he can stay healthy.

Mike O'Connor was hit hard for five runs over five innings against the Devil Rays on Friday to fall to 3-5 on the season.
Is this the start of the bubble bursting for O'Connor? The left-hander entered the game having allowed more than three runs in a start just once in 12 outings this season. Even after giving up five runs on eight hits, including two homers, tonight his ERA is still a tidy 3.77. He's nowhere near this good, but NL-only leaguers can probably stick with him for another week thanks to matchup with the Marlins

Ryan Zimmerman hit a two-run homer off Devil Rays starter Jae Seo on Sunday as the Nationals recorded a 6-2 victory.
Zimmerman's 790 OPS has been a slight disappointment, but that he's hit 11 homers and driven in 53 runs in 80 games has been a pleasant surprise. He's talented enough to keep hitting this well for the remainder of the season, and Zimmerman should only continue to get better in future years as he gains more experience

Marlon Anderson is listed as day-to-day with a strained left rib-cage muscle sustained Monday.
Anderson has recently been starting in center field against right-handers, but he was already due to head to the bench Tuesday against lefty Scott Olsen. Marlon Byrd figures to start.

Tony Armas Jr. (forearm) will make rehab starts on Wednesday and Monday before rejoining the Nationals.
Armas wanted to come off the DL this week, but it's not going to happen. He will have a rotation spot when he returns next weekend.

Nationals activated outfielder Alex Escobar from the 15-day disabled list.
Escobar lasted just two games during his first stint with Washington before getting hurt again. If he can survive longer this time, he might have some short-term value in NL-only leagues. However, it's unlikely that he's going to be an asset for the Nationals.

Ryan Zimmerman singled home Brian Schneider in the bottom of the 11th to give the Nationals an 8-7 win over the Marlins on Thursday.
A Hanley Ramirez error got the inning going for Washington. With men on first and third and two outs, the Marlins had Jason Vargas pitch to Zimmerman, rather than go with the intentional walk to set up the lefty-lefty matchup with Nick Johnson. It was probably because of Vargas' command issues and Johnson's fondness for taking the base on balls. Zimmerman has three game-winning hits in the Nationals' last 17 games.

Zimmerman is quickly pushing himself into the upper ranks of NL 3B.

No big surprise. His velocity's down, his arm is clearly not up to what it used to be since he's been the most abused pitcher of the last decade or so. He killed his trade value entirely and he's probably a National until his contract ends at this point.
