Throwing his support behind his interim manager, Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman tells the Baltimore Sun that Jim Riggleman would be a good choice for the full-time job.
Zimmerman said Riggleman is "a terrific in-house candidate ... who's got as good a chance as anybody."
Riggleman took over in July after the Nationals fired Manny Acta. He guided the club to a 33-42 record.
In parts of 10 seasons with the Padres, Cubs, Mariners and Nationals, Riggleman has a managerial record of 555-694.
The newspaper reports the Nationals, who have restructured their front office this week, are expected address their managerial vacancy soon.
