Nationals placed third baseman Ryan Zimmerman on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 26, with a small labral tear in his left shoulder.
If Zimmerman wasn't willing to play through the injury now, then there's no guarantee things will be any better in 10 days or even 10 weeks. A course of action will probably be decided in the next few days. This leaves Aaron Boone as the Nationals' starter at third. Kory Casto can back him up for now, and Ronnie Belliard figures to be added to the mix once he comes off the disabled list.
