John Patterson threw 100 pitches off a mound last week and reported no problems afterward as he attempts to come back from elbow surgery.
"I'm doing really well," Patterson said. "I'm throwing five to six days a week. I've been really excited. It has continually gotten better. I've had some soreness in my body, but those were muscles that I haven't used in a while. My elbow and [forearm] have been really good." Patterson hasn't been healthy since 2005, but was among the better pitchers in the league that season and makes for an interesting late-round flier this year.
Patterson cracked the top ten in ERA in 2005 at number nine. Washington really needs him back healthy as their rotation looks bad outside of Shawn Hill. I hope he gets back to his 2005 form for the Nats sake.
