    Boone Finds Another Home

Nationals signed infielder Aaron Boone, who had been with the Marlins, to a one-year, $1 million contract.
While the Nationals have picked up two third base candidates today in Boone and Matt Whitney, they say it's not a reflection Ryan Zimmerman's health after hamate bone surgery. Besting a 700 OPS for the first time since 2003, Boone hit .286/.388/.423 in 189 at-bats for Florida last season. He could be a bust in an expanded role, but as a 200- or 250-AB guy, he's fine for $1 million.
Did a good job off the bench last season, maybe he can do it. He can play third, SS or 2B.

Wow, Boone was good last year?
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.
