    Pena Signs Two Year Deal

The Nationals and Wily Mo Pena have reached a preliminary agreement on a two-year, $7 million contract, according to ESPN.com.
Pena would have been a free agent after next season. This protects the Nationals if he breaks through as a regular left fielder, though he may not be completely guaranteed a starting job out of spring training.
If he's not guaranteed a starting job then Acta is just dumb. He's 25 and excelled in Washington. Nats need him to help protect Zimmerman. Good signing.

Re: Pena Signs Two Year Deal

The Washington Post says Wily Mo Pena's deal with the Nats is for one year and a dual option.
It was initially reported as a straight two-year deal last night. Pena will make $2 million next year. The Nats will hold a $5 million option for 2009. If that's declined, Pena can exercise a player option for $2 million.
    Still a good signing.

Not a bad deal, I agree that Pena should start though.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.
