Johnson Breaks Leg

Nick Johnson suffered a broken right femur in Saturday's collision with Austin Kearns and is scheduled for surgery tonight.
The Nationals will have to hope he's 100 percent for the start of spring training. Johnson ends the year at .290/.428/.520 with 23 homers and 10 steals in 147 games. Robert Fick and Jose Vidro will play first base for the Nats the rest of the way. Bernie Castro will start at second when Vidro plays first.

I love the way this guy plays and would love to have him on my team. He has a long history of injuries but he is a good hitter. I hope he makes a fine recovery.

The surgery was today and it went well, and it looks likely he'll be ready for spring training, which is good.
