Nationals Soriano with 4th 30-30 Season

In the 2nd inning of today's game against the Phillies, Alfonso Soriano stole his 30th base of the season. He also hit his 39th homerun in the first inning to go along with it. This gives him his 4th 30-30 season of his career leaving him one short of the major league record of five set by both Bobby and Barry Bonds. With 40 games left in the season he very well might steal 10 more bases to join the 40-40 club too.

His other 30-30 seasons were with the Yankees in 2002 and 2003 and the Rangers in 2005.

He is an exciting player.... He may be the best all-round player in the game today.... He has turned himself into a decent outfielder too... I am glad he decided not to let his ego to get the best of him......

I wish he had been willing to play the outfield in Texas. Maybe then we would still have him instead of Brad "the big whiffer" Wilkerson.
Of course money was an issue too.

Sometimes people surprise themselves when they allow themselves to do things that are not always what they may want to do..... Sorinao is doing well in LF.... He is on pace to become a 40/40 guy.... Yikes!!! He has talent!!!!!

BTW............Soriano hit #40 tonight, just in case you didn't notice. So he is already a 40/30 guy... I believe he will get his 10 SB's by years end too!!!!

Soriano had his career high in homeruns in a park where people thought he would only get 20-25 homeruns. I am glad I was not one of those people. They didn't call him a Hank Aaron type of player for nothing when he came up.

    NY called him that.

Forgive me if I don't take everything the NY media says seriously.
