Nationals Guzman to have surgery; done for season

Because he's still dealing with pain in his right shoulder, Cristian Guzman will have season-ending surgery to repair a torn labrum.
Guzman resumed playing in extended spring games two weeks ago, but he was still in pain. "Cristian worked extremely hard for two months around the clock to attempt to come back without surgery," GM Jim Bowden said. "But without even getting on the field today, it was evident we had no choice but to wait until next year." Sadly, Royce Clayton will remain the Nationals' primary shortstop, probably for the rest of the season.

    Royce > Guzman.

Who the **** cares about this news, though, Guzman actually hurts the team if he plays for them.

at least Luis Rivas plays adequate D. Joe McEwing can't even do that.

at least Royce Clayton isn't an abyss on O. Guzman is.

That's true. Guzman's only advantage over Clayton is a slight one defensively, but the offensive difference is so huge that Guzman's just worthless to the team.
