How have you or your team fared in the history of this sim with 1st round draft picks, or notable late rounders? (easy viewing, select team history on your team page).

    Dodgers Re: Draft Histories?

2006 & 2007 were the two years that we auto'd the draft for everyone with the teams' real life picks, I believe. Nonetheless, I'll include those years anyway.

    2006:
Round 1 pick: P Clayton Kershaw. Signing Bonus: $732,600
Has gone on to be a nice pitcher for CLE. Was traded in a deal for C.C. Sabathia
Round 2 pick: P Avery Morris. Signing Bonus: $700,000
Traded to ARI in a deal that got me Tony Pena. Has been useful for ARI, but nothing special.
Round 4 pick: P Darrel Ammons. Signing Bonus: $25,000
Dealt to CLE. Made one ASG, had a few other decent years. One season would've looked a lot better if I remember correctly, but he walked about 30 in one outing vs. Detroit (a glitch game)
Round 6 pick: 2B Martin Mitchel. Signing Bonus: $25,000
Also dealt to CLE, a solid regular

    2007:
Round 1 pick: P Chris Withrow. Signing Bonus: $1,616,000
Round 2 pick: P James Adkins. Signing Bonus: $518,000
Round 3 pick: P Michael Watt. Signing Bonus: $475,000
Round 4 pick: 3B Austin Gallagher. Signing Bonus: $507,500
These were all real Dodgers picks. Withrow is with PHI now, with maybe one decent year under his belt. Adkins flamed out in ATL, and is a FA. Watt is in COL and got bombed during his Sep callup. Gallagher was sent to ARI, where he boosted to nice talent but never lived up to the potential.

    2008:
    Year 2008 Recap :
Round 1 pick: SS Tim Beckham. Signing Bonus: $3,030,000
One of my best draft picks in any league. Picked him 15th, and he's up to 1503 hits at age 27.
Round 2 pick: LF Gary Richardson. Signing Bonus: $462,000
Has turned in a decent career with the Mets. Dealt him to... COL or something originally.
Round 4 pick: P Richard Henderson. Signing Bonus: $112,000
Round 8 pick: CF William Dolman. Signing Bonus: $25,000
Round 11 pick: P Dalcio Ornelas. Signing Bonus: $25,000
All 3 players have reached the majors at some point- only Dolman with my team.
That was a pretty successful draft, all things considered.

    2009:
    Round 1 pick: P Kevin O'Neal. Signing Bonus: $732,600
He lost talent immediately and never really gained it back, despite being drafted so young. Kicking around in zito's system I think...
Round 2 pick: 2B Zoilo Pizarro. Signing Bonus: $434,000
Had a couple years in the pros with ATL, but is nothing more than a pinch hitter. I got Ramon Ramirez for him, and he's been a nice piece in my bullpen.

    2010:
Round 1 pick: P Aldo Domenech. Signing Bonus: $632,400
Drafted in 1st round, 30th overall pick, by Los Angeles (N) in 2010...
Injured on 7/31/2010 with a Bone Chips Shoulder, out for entire career...
Obviously he was restored, but that just about told the story of his career. For being the 30th pick, he had nice talent when drafted-- but he never had a chance. He's in Minnesota now, lol
Round 3 pick: P Gil Carrasco. Signing Bonus: $90,000
Actually is a decent MR for KC, after a million gains and losses with my team.

    2011:
Round 1 pick: RF Kyle Russell. Signing Bonus: $1,300,000
Didn't develop for me, traded him to FLA, has took off. Nice player.
Round 2 pick: P Arturo Sedillo. Signing Bonus: $126,000
Dealt him to SD with Howie Kendrick for... Wade Davis. Who was real nice for a year or two. He's in COL now, and is filled out at only 26.
Round 3 pick: P Jeffrey Peets. Signing Bonus: $235,000
Traded to the Phillies. A nice junkballer, but as a MR with no END, his value is limited.
Round 10 pick: P Gilberto Bernal. Signing Bonus: $25,000
Had a nice run this season until getting bombed down the stretch. He'll be back up next year, probably.

    2012:
Round 1 pick: SS Johnny Basil. Signing Bonus: $1,392,000
Sucks, probably won't crack my roster ever. Has a nice glove at multiple positions, but lost contact talent.
Round 2 pick: C Wolfgang Cutler. Signing Bonus: $875,000
Traded the spoon ****er to SEA or something. He hasn't done anything to my knowledge
Round 6 pick: P William Quintanilla. Signing Bonus: $25,000
A nice pick, but I traded him too. With FLA now.

    2013:
Round 1 pick: 1B Philip Todaro. Signing Bonus: $426,400
I accidentally picked Prov's player to my team this year, so it shows up in the history differently. I'll edit that one of these days. Anyway, Todaro was a late pick, perhaps last in the draft if I remember right. Picked him based on his great defense and hoped he might learn to hit some day. Never really did, and while he's still young, it doesn't look like he'll ever be anything.
Round 6 pick: LF Robert Bergin. Signing Bonus: $25,000
He's still young and could develop into a reserve. The rest of this draft sucked too.

    2014:
Round 1 pick: P Daniel Camarena. Signing Bonus: $2,090,000
Dealt Camarena to NYM to get Broxton back. He's developed ok, but I don't think he'll be more than a 4th or 5th starter. Who knows though.
Round 2 pick: CF Collin Cowgill. Signing Bonus: $875,000
Nice value pick, he was pretty old when I drafted him, but developed quick. Had a nice run at the end of this year, and could break out next season.

    2015:
Round 1 pick: P Martin Perez. Signing Bonus: $710,400
Last pick in the draft that year, was also included in the Broxton trade. Hasn't developed much, but he's only 26 and is rated well enough to be useful at some point. I've seen relievers boom after losing prospect status.
Round 2 pick: P Jose Tineo. Signing Bonus: $115,500
In my system, but hasn't developed much.
Round 11 pick: P Avelino Cabaņa. Signing Bonus: $25,000
Has turned into a decent MR spect. Only 21.

    2016:
Round 1 pick: P Randall Gines. Signing Bonus: $395,200
Real nice prospect for PHI. Probably made a mistake in this deal.
Round 2 pick: 3B Luis Paiva. Signing Bonus: $105,000
Traded him to the Reds. A decent player, could be a nice sub. But nothing I should miss too much unless he's like a Tartamella.
Round 3 pick: 2B Kim Vitale. Signing Bonus: $77,500
Had a nice rookie season, was dealt to PHI in the Gines deal... fell off the map and lost some talent.
Round 10 pick: P Robert Calhoun. Signing Bonus: $25,000
Boosted a few times, and is now a 6-10-10 talent MR, throws 3 pitches, and also sports a nice 69 GB%

    2017:
Round 1 pick: P Robert Armor. Signing Bonus: $205,000
Jury's still out, but he'll need to boost to ever actually be a CL. I picked him knowing full well that he needs a boost or two to be of any use.
Round 2 pick: C Robert Randolph. Signing Bonus: $203,000
Probably will be my backup eventually. Nothing flashy about him, but he was a cheap signing bonus when no one else looked too appealing.
Round 3 pick: P Roger Boivin. Signing Bonus: $175,000
Boosted and should be very useful in relief if he fills out.
Round 4 pick: C Brent Ikard. Signing Bonus: $25,000
Great defense and can hit lefties. Kinda.
Round 12 pick: P William Klaus. Signing Bonus: $25,000
Boosted his talent earlier in the year, and took his game to the next level during the playoffs. Still not much of a prospect, but for a 12th round pick I'll take it.

Stringfield is like Adam Dunn, but much less power and evidently less eye too. It's like Adam Dunn took a shit, and out popped da Champ.

    Re: Draft Histories?

2006: C Ambort has been back and forth between AAA and MLB. MR Silva boosted, is now my closer, and just turned 29. SP Cahill lost talent for me and was cut. CF Mitchell is still my CF.

2007: 1st SP Simmons was used for a couple good years of Zach Duke and now he's won 20 games in back-to-back seasons for PIT. 1B Doolittle was traded for SP Harang. RF Brown is my super-sub at 1B and all OF positions. CF Desme is still kicking around in AAA.

2008: 1st 2B Weeks is my 2B/SS. He's had some good years, but was terrible this season. MR Terry was traded to Florida for SP Olsen. 13th round pick MR Smith is still in the minors lol.

2009: 1st SP Torkelson lost talent and then was traded to PHI for SP Madson. CF Abrego will be my starting LF next season. He's started off and on stealing 174 bases the last 4 seasons.

2010: 1st MR Delaney is one of my top MRs.

2011: 1st SP Jimenez was traded to SD for OF/DH Kulbacki who was eventually traded to STL for Pujols. CF Williams Jr. had some time in the majors, but is in AAA now. SP Belford is in AAA.

2012: 1st SP Manhardt got his first MLB win this season and will be part of the team at the start of next season. 2B Thompson is in AAA.

2013: 1st CF Zazueta lost talent. MR Sanchez boosted and will be in AAA next season. RF Fogarty took his game to the next level, but not his talent. He's in AAA.

    2014: 1st 2B Torrez and 2nd 1B Cifonte were traded for Pujols.

2015: 1st SP Buckel died. 2nd SP Frank boosted and was traded for Olsen.

2016: 1st was actually for Atlanta as comp for 1B/DH Fielder. CF Cortina lost a little talent. 1B Allman and CF Ruiz gained some talent. Both are in AAA.

2017: 1st was SP Jenkin. 2nd SS Robertson boosted. 4th SP Coker boosted to 4.5 spec.

LMAO PROV, smith's nick name is @$$ ... jack @$$! bahahahah

that's the funniest shit I've ever seen. we should make a thread dedicated to finding stupid nicknames for irrelevant players.

ive been known to hand them out for no reason at all, even if the player has no future or is sitting in FA. if it fits, it fits man..

One of your old picks, prov. He wound up on my team at some point, strictly because of his name. He's retired since it looks like.

    Re: Draft Histories?

    2017:
Round 1 pick: 2B Mark Caples. Signing Bonus: $575,000
Caples was pretty well developed when I drafted him, and he will probably start this season in the Majors. At 22 he's got an average contact rating, and great discipline/avoid K ratings. Should end up being a solid draft.

    2016:
Round 1 pick: P Osvaldo Guzman. Signing Bonus: $580,000
Kinda shitty....Nothing special from him yet.

    2015:
Round 1 pick: 1B Adolfo Arbuckle. Signing Bonus: $3,000,000
Round 2 pick: CF Hyeong-rok Choi. Signing Bonus: $224,000
Not much development yet, but we're getting there. These two are serviceable MLB backups in their early 20's...

    2014:
Round 1 pick: 2B Paul Creswell. Signing Bonus: $2,910,000
Round 2 pick: P Mychal Givens. Signing Bonus: $945,000
Creswell never developed and was part of the deal to get me Aramis. Givens is decent, but was involved in the trade to get me Rich Harden. Not terrible.

    2013:
    Round 1 pick: 1B J.K. Simmons. Signing Bonus: $1,536,000
Round 2 pick: 1B Berry Eldridge. Signing Bonus: $630,000
Nothing good here. Simmons is average at best, and is no longer on my team. Eldridge is nothing special.

    2012:
Round 1 pick: SS Mark Mack. Signing Bonus: $1,287,000
Round 2 pick: P Jeffrey Dick. Signing Bonus: $329,000
Round 3 pick: SS Raoul Hernandez. Signing Bonus: $430,000
Mack hasn't been great. Every one of these 3 players has been traded already, and Dick and Hernandez have been pretty solid for their new teams. Poor results for me here.

    2011:
Round 1 pick: LF Rafael Rodriguez. Signing Bonus: $3,030,000
Round 2 pick: P Benjamin Medina. Signing Bonus: $129,500
Round 3 pick: CF Leonard Degraffenreid. Signing Bonus: $235,000
Round 4 pick: P Thomas Hansen. Signing Bonus: $143,500
Raffy is looking like he'll be a great pick. Hanson has been pretty good. Degraffenreid is mediocre, and Medina was part of the trade that got me Aramis Ramirez. Pretty good draft.

    2010:
Round 1 pick: P Donald Crow. Signing Bonus: $2,037,000
Round 2 pick: 3B Leo Maldonado. Signing Bonus: $462,000
Crow has been excellent, and Maldonado was part of the trade that got my Prince Fielder. This was a good draft.
