Prior and Valenzuela were later traded for for deals that brought backup catcher Wolfgang Cutler and Adam Rhodes.

Juan Brown boosted quite a bit since he deal but is getting bombed in the ML. Ron Santo is not on a team. Huber is retired. Hollday was traded later on for 4 players to Philly, but the year he was in Colorado was no where near his best.

Marmol is probably the best closer in baseball since leaving Coors.

I guess it's worth pointing out the prelude:

Traded from Chicago (N) to Colorado on 7/3/2009 (Going to COL: P Carlos Marmol, 1B Nick Evans. Going to CHN: P Sixto Echevarria, P Isaiah Fronenberger)..

Evans hits a lot of homeruns for Pittsburgh and Fronenberger will never come close to Marmol. Guess that's a good thing cause the cubs might have 5-6 world series with an inhuman CL

    Here's a bad one:
Traded from Philadelphia to Milwaukee on 2/1/2013 (Going to MIL: 1B Eric Hosmer, P Santo Franco, RF Jerry Singleton. Going to PHI: P Scott Kazmir, P Ben Sheets)...

Kazmir is a good pitcher in this league, but still... Sheets did next to nothing in his time with PHI. Kazmir also makes a billion dollars and probably won't re-sign next year.

Singleton would've won roty with more playing time this year, and Hosmer is an MVP candidate. Franco burned out somewhere...

For what it's worth, Singleton was traded by the Astros to Philly initially (in a deal for Ryan Howard), then after the Philly to Milwaukee deal he was traded to the Yankees. Been tossed around a lot. Like Saber's mom.

Traded from Los Angeles (N) to San Diego on 4/2/2015 (Going to SDN: 2B Andy LaRoche. Going to LAN: P Terry Braggs, LF Joe Benson)...

That one worked out pretty nice. LaRoche did nothing in San Diego, and Braggs (the main piece actually) died on me. But Benson has more than made up for that, and is relatively young. His actual contact ratings are higher than his talent (10 vs 9), but to be completely honest I didn't even notice they had gotten that high until just now. They were all 9's last time I looked. He played most, if not all of the season with 9 actuals I'd assume... but with a .821 ops, 21 steals, 77 ribbies and 13 home runs he's got a spot on the team until he stops hitting.

True, but the deal would have been better if I had held on to Fielder. Losing him made the deal pretty much a rental+....I mean, I had him for a year and a half. Note how my team fell off without Fielder. Letting him go was the real bad move, I guess.

If you deal me Harden or one of the nice pitchers, I promise it'll be a good deal.

I'm considering rebuilding....Not a complete rebuild, but getting rid of some of my over 30 guys for younger players/prospects.

If you wanna try to make an offer, go ahead. But I'm not dumping them for nothing either, obviously.

Haha. No way you can actually follow through on that.

Seriously though, I'd consider moving some guys. Harden among them. Anyone with interest, let me know...

I don't think I mocked them till I saw Daniel Murphy throw the ball for the first time this season, so.. like between that and Ayala of last season!

But you spent the offseason laughing at the thought that they might resign Ayala.....
