Re: ALCS/NLCS: Post Your Starters Here

must be some sort of glitch in the game because the Wild Card can never be the home team in a playoff series except for the World Series in real life. I just don't ever remember running to that glitch before last season in any league. it's interesting is all.

I'll send changes / post starters later...I'm sure Theo won't post until tonight at the earliest anyway.

Good luck DMB. This year's NLCS is a rematch of last year's NLDS...

    random A's front office thoughts

there is such a thing as too much flexibility.

time to make an OOTP loophole work for us.

it may be time to go against our normal philosophy.

    hmmm...

    Game 1: Hirsh
    Game 2: Mazzaro
    Game 3: Olson
    Game 4: Roe
    Game 5: Madson
    Game 6: Hirsh
    Game 7: Mazzaro

use Asahina if Hirsh or Mazzaro get hurt in games 1 or 2...use McCarthy if both get hurt for some reason.

    good luck Theo.

Yeah, no idea there... it is weird and I'd rather it not occur in all honesty- but I don't know how I'd even start to fix it?

I'm thinking it might have to do with the fact that Baltimore won wild card by a one-game playoff.... didn't last yrs wildcard win in a 1-game tie situation last season too? Detroit I think? Maybe that's the glitch?

Maybe I'm wrong... I swore we had a tie last year too though.

Re: ALCS/NLCS: Post Your Starters Here

I tied with Toronto for the Wild Card and beat him in the 1-game playoff. Detroit won their division, but when we met in the ALCS I was the home team because I had the better record. It's doesn't matter. It's just something to note as it seems the game is making the home team whichever team has the better record.

edit: and for the record, I'm not saying fix it. I'm not sure how it could be fixed. as long as people know, that's all you can really do I think. The only thing I remember seeing as far as home field is the option for the ASG determining the WS...nothing else regarding the playoffs.

Re: ALCS/NLCS: Post Your Starters Here

Chicago is the Wild Card and they're the home team, too..no 1-game playoff in the NL so I really think the game is favoring the best overall record for some reason. I wonder why...you'd think we would have heard about it in Mission's league or TSSL with all the seasons those were run. I find it hard to believe that the WC never had a better record than a division winner in the LCS in those leagues...if it hasn't happened, then perhaps there is some sort of setting. I don't know.

Ya I was wondering about this myself. Not much Nick can do about it now, but it's weird.
