The FTP broadcast from the game isn't "live" anymore, but it still shows the general idea on that link. But it isn't updating as of now.

If anyone wants to see how the PBP updates and whatnot, I could show them later on, but I had to close out the game because it started making clicking noises.

I've contemplated that as well. I am open to giving GMs the option of competing in a fashion like that. However, there is always a chance one GM or the other will not have time to do all 7 games, so we would have to figure out a way to make it fair. Maybe we would do some of the games live, some of them straight up simmed. But I like that idea too slyder, it just would depend on the two GMs who made it there.

Another idea that crossed my mind was maybe picking one game per month and letting the two GMs run a "live sim". Almost like a "Game of the week" or "primetime" thing, only since we sim so often and it would be a bit hard for me to run a live sim each time I did 15-days in-game, so we could schedule it once, maybe twice a month. We'd have to decide how to choose the games of the month beforehand, though, and if it went over good maybe we could expand it to include more games per sim periods in the future.

It would give more than just the all-star game managers (and potentially world series teams, if we were go with that too) a chance to try it out.

Yea, start it out on a small scale and if it works we can expand it, definitely can only make the sim league better

I'm sure Porter and I could try it out this sim depending on schedules. I'd have no problem with whatever time tomorrow just to see how well it runs .

Go for the game of the week thing Nick. I was going to try that, but I couldn't because I can't do internet mode. So I started the Live sims instead. This is a really good idea, and I always wondered why more leagues didn't use that feature. I've never been in a league that used it.

I should be free most of the week, so if you need help testing anything out, let me know.

I'm up for any of the ideas here. I think anything we can sim live would be awesome, be it GoTW, ASG, WS, what ever...I'm really enthused about it
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Re: Future Plans For Next Year's All Star Game and Beyond (ideas)...

I'm really glad you guys like this idea (live sims). I was afraid the response would be underwhelming or mixed. OK, here's what we are going to do.

Porter & Slyder, I know you two dibbed first kinda, but since I can't run it today as well and want to make sure some others can have a chance if they want to try this, what I'm going to do is for the sim after this one (so, probably Thursday or Friday-- maybe Wednesday) is let pairs sign up in a post and I will draw their names somehow, either through an online randomizer (if I can find it efficeint) or just straight out of a ballcap...

Here's the thing: since it would have to be two teams who play eachother, you obviously have to come in contact with a GM on your schedule you think it's possible to face (schedule wise, prefference on matching up with in flashchat, etc.). Once you two have found a game for that schedule period, reply to the post and I'll enter you both.

    I'll make the post shortly.
