Overview: I made the curious decision of bencing Greg Golson who's coming off his best year: .332, 17 HR's, 100 RBI, 46 SB's (198 hits, 97 runs, .378 OBP). But I really feel that for a team that hits so well we needed some more power. So the left handed Matsui fits well as this teams 5th hitter.

Though it's nice to know I have such a good backup in center if things don't go well over the first two sims. I also know I have Guzman as the 2nd middle reliever and mopup guy. That won't last for long. I'm going to call Huseby up as soon as I figure who to send down. I haven't decided if I should put him in the rotation or pen though.

Overall this is a good offensive team. I've been waiting for H-Mart to develop, but he's the cleanup hitter this team needs. What's scary is he's my future 6 hitter if and when this years 1st round pick Al Borland develops.

The pitching isn't horrible, but it's not great. There's some talent there, but I expect it to be the reason I'm horrible again. As this is basically last years offense which finished around 2nd overall in AVG if I remember correctly.

Really, you're benching Golson. I mean, was the .907 ops or 100 RBI just not good enough?

Matsui had a .923 OPS and 110 RBI's last year. Though I'm debating if Golson should start against lefties. He just doesn't have enough power. And I can't bench my LF or RF, so CF is the only open spot. If Matsui doesn't live up to expectations though, Golson will get his chance to be the full time center fielder.

H-Mart seems to be taking forever to develop... I remember trading him for Pie. Felix Pie, not a slice of pie... eventhough the slice of pie would be more favorable right now.

His bench is better than your lineup.

I'm starting to accept the fact he may never develop, but he does have 8 contact against lefties. I may try to move him for some pitching, but hopefully he'll make strides this year and become my starting 3B. Even without the 9 contact he once had he would inject a lot of power into the lineup.

Edit: And if H-Mart develops soon, even though his bat took a hit recently. We'll see just how amazing Ryan Dent is. As I'd take a page from Zito and make Dent my starting catcher.

Even after taking a range hit at all positions a year or so ago. He's still 8+ range at every position but 2B where he has 7 range.

Villalona died on me for like 3 seasons, but now he's back to being an elite prospect... he is currently third on the position prospect list. Funny, because his contact dropped to 6 for a while. He's still young at 22... hoping he's mlb ready by 24...H-Mart was a much better prospect when I drafted him, he kinda came back down to earth.
