    A blast from the past

    remember TPSLv1?

    Some of you do atleast.

I uploaded the "Archive" file (I couldn't generate reports, so there's no actual player files ... the file itself died back in the day, hence why TPSLv1...died)... you can see everything from the last season we did, but you can't click on player pages. Team pages and everything else works though.

It's still fun to look through.

Ahh yes, Edwin Encarnacion hitting .307-40-112 for me in that version....as opposed to .242-13-58 last season in the current league. Hell, overall offense was up across the board in that league though if I recall correctly.......

Maicer Izturis was a down right steal from Anaheim, also Cliff Lee and Wyatt Toregas were great

Re: A blast from the past

my team pwned the playoffs that year...the saddest part is I'll never know how long we would have sustained that success. We were in the middle of the pack age-wise, #1 in attendance, and only 11th in payroll.

And the sweet 17 - 1 clincher over OM...Chavez with 2 homers and 8 RBIs in that game. Colin Curtis nearly batted .400 for the playoffs as well.

Game 1: W 5 - 4 in extra innings...Adam Dunn with the game winning homer in the top of the 11th
    Game 2: L 9 - 6
Game 3: W 3 - 2 Eric Chavez with the walk-off homer in the bottom of the 9th
    Game 4: W 6 - 3
Game 5: W 17 - 1 after OM dishonored Bruce Chen despite beating him in game 4 and winning 15 games during the regular season...no doubt that was their motivation.

it makes me that hammer ****ed up the file...damn you hammer!

Felix and Delmon...talk about a core. I'd've liked to see what I could've done with those 2 anchoring my team for 15 or so years.

It's cause I lost my sliders from the old league , and ever since I started part 2, I had to go by memory. To make a long story short, I PM'd prov recently to inquire about TSSL's sliders, and eventually wound up finding the old sliders I used from a file on my cpu and plan on implimenting them this season.

Offense/pitching will be much, much more equal this season, I promise.... I've got the old sliders back and I've been doing a little tweak and testing on them the past couple of days. They're the engine sliders, not development. Development isn't going to change.

I'll post them before the season starts so people can know what the league is working with though. They're essentially going to produce stats similar to those within TPSLv1... only it'll be different obviously depending on how certain players' talent stacks out in this league.

But I promise the stats will be better for this entire year, both from an offensive and pitching standpoint.

That's why the league is a better place without a council.

I loved that Seattle team. I was loaded with talent. If I had OOTP I'd recreate that entire league. As the rating reports still work. Thanks for posting this though Nick, it's cool to look back.

I started putting together a killer team in that version too... That was my 3rd WS winning squad I had built (in the 2007 season)....

    ****ing A

I had Carillo, Zito, Lackey, Teix, Jones, and Lee as being monsters...and a few good specs too.

I'd give anything to go to V1 again
