    So is Mark Prior "injury prone" or not? Cause essentially, he had/has the same things as Halladay: some arm troubles, and freak injuries (wrestled on the basepaths and line drive off elbow).

    Yeah. Jaret Wright is injury prone. So is Wood (or it could just be Dusty). Halladay aint.

    So if someone consistently gets injured is he injury prone? The answer is yes, regardless of how.

  5. #20
    Consistently? He's been injured twice, once because of an accident.

    Using your reasoning, if you get hit by a car and then the year after that, get the flu, you are injury prone.

    I get migraines once in a while...I'm injury prone now, too!

    I really am injury prone. 3 ligament tears in less than a year.

    who's # 5?
    Glaus=injury prone
    Overbay/OFers=High Upside, but may not reach potential
    Hill=journeyman
    Adams=green
    bullpen=solid, but not great
    defense=very poor after loss of hudson, their only defensive star

    How will that team leapfrog the Sox and Yanks?
    Halladay, as the others have said he has only 2 injuries and in 2 different years, the right shoulder injury in 2004, he was shut down for the year so he would recover for next year since they were terrible in 2004

    BurnettL I can only say I'm expecting big things from him (15 wins, 3.70 ERA), we will have to see about him.

    Lilly is healthy now and can win 12-15 games, with a 4.30 ERA, he's a good option as the 3rd starter.

    Chacin as a rookie last year went 13-9, 3.72 ERA, 203.0 IP, 70 BB, 121 K's in 34 starts.

    The #5 is Josh Towers, last year went 13-12, 3.71 ERA, 208.2 IP, 29 BB, 112 K's, (3rd lowest ERA in the divison as a starter behind Halladay and Chacon)

    Glaus has problems with his shoulder but he was healthy last season and hit 37 HR, gives the jays a true power threat

    Lyle Overbay is an upgrade over Eric Hinske both at the plate and on defense and finally gives the Jays a real 1B since Delgado

    Alex Rios is the only OF with high upside who hasn't reached his potential (25 years old going into the season) Rios will be pushed to keep his starting job this season, something that didn't happen last year.

    Wells is a 30 HR/100 RBI player who plays amazing defense (2 Gold Gloves), Catalanotto/Johnson/Hinske are the other OF'ers and Cat can hit .300 avg and .370 OBP. Johnson (good LHP hitter .278 avg, .338 OBP) and Hinske (very good vs RHP .283 avg, .358 OBP) are what you get at the plate, if John Gibbons plays them right it can be a stronger OF then expected, Johnson, Rios, and Wells have great arms and range, defense won't be problem unless Hinske can't handle the OF

    Aaron Hill a journeyman???? he's 23 about to play his 1st full season when given the chance he can hit the ball and solid defensively, you might be thinking of John McDonald who is the backup middle infielder and he's great defensively and was great hitting LHP for the Jays last year

    Russ Adams does need to work on his defense but he's fine hitter who will get better this season

    the Bullpen was great last year and I see no reason why they cant continue, other than Miguel Batista (gone now) no one was had an ERA over 4, so to state again best bullpen in the division.

    I touched on the defense already, Hill who is replacing Hudson was solid at 2B still a downgrade but not as much as you think, also the backup John McDonald is great defensively, Overbay upgrade at 1B, Glaus possible upgrade at 3B, Molina upgrade at C (way better throwing arm than Zaun), Adams and Hill working on their defense, Vernon Wells, Reed Johnson, and Alex Rios are great on defense in the OF, Catalanotto has good range but one of the weakest arms you will see, Hinske is playing a new position so the jury is still out on him, but he has lost 10 pounds this off-season, the defense is fine but not poor or great

    Hmm well the way you make it sound seems like Toronto is better then everyone. Pick out the bad too, don't just take the good. Because they all have downsides too.

    I never said they are better than everyone, they have improved as a whole and teams like New York and Boston should be on the look out.

    the way you make it sound is that they have no pitching outside of Halladay when he's "injury prone" and they have no OFers but young ones with potential, and their whole defense as a team all depended on Hudson.

    here's the bad

    no Hudson at 2B but Aaron Hill was solid in his limited time at 2B when Hudson was hurt late in the season.

    Adams needs improvement on defense and I have said this twice already.

    don't let Hinske, Catalanotto and Adams (sometimes) hit against LHP, they are weak there but Johnson, Rios, McDonald, and Zaun are good/decent LHP hitters off the bench, who can pick up the slack from them.

    Molina is weak against RHP but Zaun can pick up some starts there

    no real leadoff hitter will hurt the team, also no real speedster on the base paths.

    how will Burnett tranalate to the American League.

    Lilly had nagging injuries last year but he's healthy now
