    Halladay done for the year

    http://tsn.ca/mlb/news_story.asp?id=134646

The Toronto Blue Jays have decided to shut down star righthander Roy Halladay for the remainder of the season. Halladay, 28, has been on the disabled list after breaking his leg July 8 against the Texas Rangers when he was struck in the shin by a Kevin Mench line drive.

The initial prognosis for the staff ace was that he would be out four-to-six weeks, and it appeared that Halladay might meet those guidelines when he started throwing. However, he has struggled with his mobility as a fielder and could not rehabilitate the leg to the point where he could safely return to action.

In 19 starts this season, Halladay is 12-4 with a 2.41 ERA.

this really kills any chance the Jays have left to make the Playoffs, just hope they stay above .500 for the rest of the year now and I really want to shot Kevin Mench right now

Sucks for you guys. I thought Halladay would win the Cy Young, but then that thing happened.

It's a shame, since he was by far the best pitcher in the AL this year even with a month missed, but with another month, I doubt he can hold his lead with so few innings. Although I'm happy as a Sox fan, as a baseball fan it saddens me.

Then out of fairness to the others you will be Slagathor.

Also, is Ted Lilly still out or pitching? While being poor elsewhere, he's dominated the Sox when facing them. If he's gone, then two of the four horsemen to slay the Sox in the AL East have had issues (Lilly's hurt, Kazmir got a bit roughed up by the Sox).

Right move. He is too good to risk getting him injured worse by rushing him back.
    I aim to try
