Blue Jays Jays trade for Olivo, Decline his option

Blue Jays declined C Miguel Olivo's $2.6 million option for 2011.
The Jays acquired Olivo from the Rockies on Thursday for a player to be named later. By declining his option they've allowed him to become a Type B free agent, meaning he is allowed to take offers from other teams but will bring the Blue Jays a supplemental round draft pick if he leaves. Olivo could also accept an offer of salary arbitration from Toronto.
    Here's something else:
Shi Davidi of The Canadian Press tweets that the Blue Jays could potentially wind up with eight picks inside of the top 50 selections in this year's draft. Toronto may get two picks for Scott Downs, two for Jason Frasor, and one each for John Buck, Kevin Gregg, and Olivo in addition to their own.
WOW!! When I first read that the Jays got Olivo my initial thought was why? They have Arecibia and just re-signed Jose Molina. This makes a lot more sense. I don't think there is any chance Olivo accepts arbitration. The Marlins need a catcher and have already expressed interest since he has played there before. Looks like a smart play by the Jays. 8 picks is just ridiculous.
