Stieb and Hentgen bestowing wisdom on young Jays

Fun little read about the old time talent brought in to help out with the new school talent that the Jays have in camp this spring. Apparently they always go down, but this year they asked to stay a little bit longer, and Cito said yes.

Good to see a couple generally good guys still want to give back anyway they can.

Adam Lind signed to 4 year contract extension

Jays sign outfielder Lind to four-year, $18M contract

HOUSTON -- The Toronto Blue Jays signed outfielder Adam Lind to a four-year, US$18 million contract Saturday.

The deal runs through 2013 and includes club options through the 2016 season.

Lind, 26, who hit .305 last year with 35 home runs and 114 RBIs, was happy to know he'd be with the team long term and could make Toronto his second home.

Nice contract for Lind and the Jays, and there are 3 afforable club options all around $8M. basically the Jays just signed Lind through to the age of 33 at a pretty good salary.

Seems to me like a great signing for Lind, and for the Jays.
Every report I read of this seems to think it's great value for both.
