Blue Jays Jays sign Buck, Gathright, and Chavez

Raul Chavez was the only Jay non-tendered last night, but was quickly re-signed to a minor league deal.

Gathright also was signed to a minor league deal.

The most interesting signing; John Buck is signed to a 1 year $2M deal.

John Buck, ousted by the mighty Jason Kendall. Not exactly a good footnote for his wiki page.

Sweet more mediocre signings. I like where this is going.

Well know 2010 is going to be a building year, so this is good asset management by Anthopolous.

Buck is a serviceable starter, and Chavez is good enough to back him up.

And on the off chance Buck were to have a good year, all the sudden you have type B or maybe even A free agent or you can trade him, all for nothing.

Scutaro was a journeyman 2 years ago, and now he's netting the Jays 2 high picks.
