    Player Over/under saves for Blow Jay Ryan

    In case you missed B.J. Ryan's performance yesterday, it was one for the ages. He had a three-run lead and proceeded to blow it within a few seconds. Like the Rangers hitters are supposed to be fooled by his 86 mph fastball.

    Ryan has 2 saves and 2 blown saves right now with an ERA above 11. I'm putting the over/under at 12.5 saves this year. Give me the under.

    The 86 mph fastball is probably more like 56mph.

    Unless it's shelved on the DL for awhile, I'll take 15 but it'll be an ugly 15 with 5-6 blown saves. Downs Syndrome and co. will get more opportunities eventually.

    I said 2-7 because Cito won't keep putting him out there if he performs like he has been. Too many good options like Downs and Carlson in the pen.

    Right on cue!

    UPDATE: 4:47 pm -- The Jays also placed closer B.J. Ryan on the DL with left trap tightness. Scott Downs will be the primary stopper going forward.
