Matt Stairs will be back in 2008!!

The Jays have begun talking to Matt Stairs about returning for 2008.
Smart move considering this off-season acquisition turned out better than any other move Toronto made last year. Expect the 39-year-old to get a nice raise from the $850,000 he made this season.

This could quite possibly be the stepping stone to the Blue Jays being the AL East winners in 2008. hahaha. j/k!! I like Matt Stairs, he seems like a great teammate, friend, and person.

he is fun loving. every team needs a rolly, polly fun loving clown on their team. It keeps a very long season, loose and fun.

Here's the guy that been the Jays best player most nights, was offered a Minor League Contract and a chance to win a spot on the roster to be a left-handed bat off the bench and a backup 1st basemen/DH but he's been so much more. I never expected Stairs to be close to 20 HR and 60 RBI this season, not to mention hitting over .300 just a great player to have.

Matt Stairs! Great Canadian Hero. Seriously, he was about 2000 miles away from being the prototypical good ole' southern boy.

He's having a ridiculous year. For example, look at his VORP ranking. 58th among hitters, even with only 346 PAs

55-61 is: Berkman, M. Young, Tejada, Stairs, Morneau, Carlos Lee, Manny.

Not bad for an MLC making under a million this year? The Sox are paying J.D. Drew 14 times that for noticeably worse performance. Love it.
