Jesse Litsch has success in homecoming

Pitcher Jesse Litsch a native of St. Petersburgh, was a batboy for the Devil-Rays 5 years ago and now facing them a major leaguer with the Blue Jays, with friends and family on hand, Litsch turned in a great performance for his homecoming debut, lowering his ERA to 1.71 since being recalled from Triple-A Syracuse on June 28.

Litsch went 6 and 2/3 innings with 7 hits allowed, 1 walks, 2 strike-outs, and zero runs allowed to give the Jays the 2-0 win tonight,

After a very disaapointing lost on Monday night, seeing Litsch get the win tonight is a great way to lift up the team.

I think it makes a statement to the tem, along with the "non" actions made by JP today on deadline day.

Sorta says that..."this is ouy team. We do what needs to be done to win. We are what we are, and are winners. Look what happens when we don't blow the thing up? We win"
