that was McGowan's 1st shutout and complete game too, he never went passed the 8th inning before that game. McGowan has really turned a big corner in his career this season.


that was the 1st 1-hitter since Roy Halladay's 1st ever game in the majors against the Tigers in 1998, where in the 9th Bobby Higginson hit a 2-run HR off Halladay to ruin it.
