I thought I would just post this nice little write up about Jeremy Accardo from the street and smith magazine 06 basseball season preview that I had sitting around my place.
" Giants Top Prospect #9, IMPACT Rookie
This unsung reliever dominated three minor-league levels, finishing the season as a valuable member of the San Francisco bullpen. Accardo offers good arm strength from an athletic frame, pumping his 89-95-mph fastball into the strike zone consistently. His best pitch is an 85-87-mph cutter that he can move in two directions. He also has a nasty, 83-86-mph slider that is extremely tough on right-handed batters.
He gets good deception from his overhand slot and incorporates a high leg kick into his delivery. Saving seven games at three levels in the minors, he finished with a 1.64 ERA, a 4.0 K/BB ratio and a 9.8 strikeout rate, finishing the year up with a 3.94 ERA in 29 2/3 innings for the Giants.
This season he can be a quality setup reliever. By improving his 82-85-mph changeup, however, he can stop left-handed batters and eventually challenge for a closer role in San Francisco."
I just got around to noticing the write up hehe. Anyways it makes me wonder why they got rid of him, he sounds like a keeper. Rough first start with the team but I wouldnt look much into it just glad it didnt mean anything cause we killed the Yankees that day.
