i don't understand how you're able to strike out Vladimir Guerrero, but then decide to intentionally walk the next batter Tim Salmon. wtf?

    Lackey vs Janssen today
    1pm EST start

    from mlb.com

LAA John Lackey, RHP (3-2, 3.62) Angels (14-17)
    @
TOR Casey Janssen, RHP (0-2, 6.30) Blue Jays (15-14)

    Scouting Report:
Lackey has struggled to control the strike zone. In his last three starts, he's allowed 14 walks. In his last start, Lackey allowed four runs on six hits over 5 1/3 innings to the A's, an outing that was cut short when he was ejected for his part in a bench-clearing fracas after a pitch to Oakland catcher Jason Kendall.

Janssen was much improved over his Major League debut, but he finished with the same result -- a loss at the hands of Baltimore. The rookie right-hander gave up five runs on eight hits in six innings, but the numbers don't show the strides he made. Janssen was much calmer in his second outing and didn't issue any walks after he allowed three free passes and hit two batters in his first career start. The five runs that Janssen allowed came on three hits, including a two-run home run to Miguel Tejada.
    Monday
    7pm EST start
    Weaver vs Halladay

LAA Jeff Weaver, RHP (1-4, 6.43) Angels (14-17)
    @
TOR Roy Halladay, RHP (3-1, 3.73) Blue Jays (15-14)

    Scouting Report:
After having a rough time in four of his first five starts this season, Jeff Weaver pitched well on Wednesday, against the Detroit Tigers. Although he took the loss in a 2-1 win, Weaver was sharp. He allowed only two runs and five hits in 7 1/3 innings, walking two and striking out four. He may have had a little extra motivation because he was facing the team that drafted him and brought him to the Majors.

Halladay wasn't his sharpest in his last outing, but a Toronto comeback allowed the right-hander to escape without a second loss. Halladay gave up five runs in six innings against the Red Sox, who pushed out nine hits, including five straight singles, at one point. He struck out two and walked two in the no-decision. In his career against the Angels, Halladay is 3-4 with a 6.39 ERA in eight games.

Casey Janssen played a heck of a game. Only gave up 1 hit in 7.1 innings.

It really wasn't that exciting ... over in 2 hours exactly pretty much. Good thing Sportsnet went to bonus coverage of Johan Santana.

pitching duel between Halladay and Weaver just broke in the 5th inning

    5-0 Jays

Overbay started with a single, next up was Hinske and he double driving home Overbay to make it 1-0, Hillenbrand fouled out, Bengie Molina hit a 2-run Home run to make it 3-0, Adams with a fly out to centre field, Aaron Hill hits a single for once then Alex Rios with his 7th home run of the season, made it 5-0.

    Adams still can't throw.

Tony Glaus with the day off too, Alice Cooper is at that the game too
