so... the Sox scored 3... right after BJ Ryan gave up a run I edited my post to "nvm this post" and the next pitch Ortiz flied out....Abit early but Game Over!!!!! (2 more outs to go)
8-3 Jays
This kinda scared me.
no way Frasor been the Jays' worst pitcher so far, it was a good effort by Gibbons to put him into a game with a 5 run lead by he blew it until Ryan came out for the 1 out save
some Lilly statsLilly (1-0) turned in seven strong innnings, in which he struck out 10, walked none and gave up just one run. It was a stark contrast to his first outing, when he issued six free passes and lasted just 2 1/3 innings. The lefty's performance lowered his ERA for the season from 11.57 to 3.86, and stuck to the trend he's established against the Red Sox.
In his last seven outings against Boston -- dating back to 2004 and including Thursday -- Lilly is 5-0 with a 1.65 ERA. The 10 strikeouts also marked the fourth time that Lilly has reached double-digits in whiffs versus the Red Sox.
During one stretch between the fourth and seventh innings on Thursday, the southpaw didn't allow a hit to 13 straight batters, with six strikeouts in that span. Boston's No. 4-9 hitters went a combined 3-for-22.
