    Louisville Sluggers Fanzone

Do you love baseball but just don't know what team to root for? Do you have a passion for this sport that surpasses everything that defines life? Well, look no further than where you are right now. This is the Louisville Slugger Fanzone.

Brand new to the SBSL with a new spirit of drive and unparalleled desire to achieve, The Louisville Sluggers are a team you would expect to see make your baseball dreams come true. The team is stacked with talent both young and old. The veterans lead as the rookies learn. It all evens out to the perfect balance.

This team has a chance at contention this season and has a bright future ahead of itself. We are in the top 10 in tp systems in the SBSL. There is no doubt that this team will be on the winning side for years to come.

    GM: redsrbetter

He is a new GM with absolutely no previous experience. Yet his knowledge of the sport and eye for talent are well known in the league. It is evidenced in this year's draft as they took on many talented players both for now and for the future.

    Manager: Dusty York

York is one of redsrbetter's guys. He is another one with little experience on the SBSL level, but he is prime to make his impact on the game.

Rotation: With Randy Johnsos anchoring a well put together staff, we can only expect big things. The Big unti has a history of making batters take their seats after three strikes. He is one of the most feared pitchers in the game and will look to make this year another memorable one. Behind him will be Mike Mussina. The Moose is another starter who has had an outstanding career. Although he has had a few injuries throughout his career, the Sluggers are ready for a healthy season from him. The rotation follows with Matt Clement, Ryan Franklin, and the rookie Francisco Liriano. That looks to be an nice average staff overall and the hope for them is to remain healthy and see what Liriano can do for his rookie season.

Bullpen: This is the strength of this team. Jaret Wright will be the long-reliever and will gather some innings when the rotation needs help. The veteran Todd Jones will join Tom "Flash" Gordon and the left-hander Craig Breslow in the middle relief roles. Jones and Gordon both have experience in the closer's role and will be able to make good with their inning or two fo work every other night or so. The setup spot goes to the crafty BJ Ryan who had an amzing season last year. He would likely be the closer on any other team, but with Trevor Hoffman in the same bullpen we have the lookings of one of the top bullpens in the game.

Middle Infield: Clint Barmes had an exceptional debut last season and he will man the shortstop position. He hopes to come back from last season's injury on the same note he started last season. Turning the double play with him at 2B will be the jack of all trades Ryan Freel. This is a speedy base stealing threat that can get it done on both sides of the field. The only concern with Freel is that he may not be able to handle playing only one position over the course of the season. But to compliment that and to give Barmes a breather, Orlando Cabrera is the perfect man for the backup role. He could easily be the starting shortstop on maany teams with his talent.

Corners: The rookie phenom Prince Fielder will be one of the mighty bats in this teams lineup. We all hope that he can take care of manning the first base bag defensively. If he can get that done, he will have a legitimate shot at rookie of the year this year. At the hot corner, we have the young Edwin Encarnacion. This kid will be one of the best in a few years. He has a plus bat and a very strong arm. He still needs to grow with the glove work, but he has plenty of time to learn.

Outfield: This is not the best outfield in the game, but there are still solid. Garret Anderson will be the man in left as he looks to continue his great career. In center there will be Mike Cameron. He is still a great fielder as he is striving to keep it going on the offensive end as well. In right will be a platoon between Michael Restovich and Charles Thomas. Both of these guys have a world of talent and are waiting to let it out. The Sluggers hope to see one of these guys make their presence known this season.

Catching: The Sluggers have a lot of talent in this years catching tandem. Johnny Estrada is a wonderful hitter and is known to call a great game behind the plate. He is an All-Star .300 hitter who will man the catching position the majority of the time. Backing him up and likely seeing a lot of right handed pitchers will be the up and coming Javier Valentin. He swings hard and when he makes contact, there will be trouble for opposing pitchers.

DH: Dmitri Young will be this year's designated hitter. He has a powerful bat and will be a huge boost for the middle of the lineup. He was likely drafted because of his younger brother Delmon Young waiting for his callup. They will be positive influences on eachother and it will be great for this team to have two brothers tearing the cover off of baseballs over the coming years.

So this is your team and this is what you get to look foward to seeing. Now that you have a little background on these players, you have no choice but to root for them. So run to your local Mall or Wal-Mart and pick up a brand new Louisville Sluggers cap. And when you see them win the World Series this season, go pick up a jersey. This team is here to stay and ready to dominate all takers. Let's go Slugger fans, we got a team to watch!
