Doesn't matter what you gave up, it's the fact that you'd even consider taking on something like Clement.

hes an FA in '07 right? So I'm not taking on a Helton-esque contract anyway.

    Nationals

I wanted to solidify my staff, and with this move, I think I've done that. It doesn't cost to my team much either. I do give up the best 2B in the game, but you have to give something to get something, and I have a solid replacement in Vidro on my team. Other than that, I give up a decent 5th starter, a guy I planned on moving to the bullpen, and a couple of solid (but not great) prospects that would've had a hard time finding a place on my team anyway, and in return, I get 2 very solid starting pitchers that fit anywhere from #2-4 in my rotation. So, I now have a staff that can compete with just about any staff from 1-5 and a pretty solid bullpen all without losing very much on the offensive side of my ballclub.

The players are better off in the other parks. No SP is safe in Arlington. And Washington plays in a canyon. It's beneficial to us both in that regard.

I'm sure he was infatuated with the .63 era thru 2 games, and just figured he would get that kind of production all year long. And Dry, I wouldn't be so sure of the fact that you won that trade, if they even remotely develop I killed you in the trade. As far as short term.....I don't have to pay 9.5 million dollars a year to a Very Inconsistent pitcher

Clement wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't so wild.
    But he'll be so wild.

And that guarantees future deals with him.
