    Shocked 2031: A New Beginning

    The site has been updated.

    http://www.baseballslant.com/sim/tssl/

I contracted the 6 open teams and the 2 least active of the 4 teams that did not check-in. I think I got all the files correct, but feel free to check your team page and all the links to make sure they match up.

I also doubled the National TV contract minimum from $5 mil to $10 mil, which gives everyone an additional $5 mil in revenue.

There are now 2 divisions with 5 teams each in both leagues. Everyone will use the DH from this point on. The top 2 teams in each division will make the playoffs. The playoffs have the same structure (3 rounds, 7-game series).

I need to run some test sims to see what happens with the stats and such so it may be a while before we continue simming.

I need to decide what to do with the players from the deleted teams. Do I delete all of those players? Do we have a contraction draft for all the players? Just the specs and leave the MLB players as FAs? If we have a contraction draft, how many rounds? I was thinking:

Draft specs only and leave the MLB players as FAs.

    or

Draft a few rounds for all of the players and deleted the ones not picked.

I'm just a little concerned with leaving all of that talent with only 20 teams now. That's why I'm leaning towards just drafting 2 - 3 rounds for all of the players and deleting the rest. Thoughts?

I agree with drafting some rounds. Deleting rest. Or else the talent be crazy stacked. More with the likes of HSL.

Draft 4 rounds snake style with prospects/players... could allow trading of picks to spark some offseason movement if you wanted

This will be interesting. There are at least 100 MLB worthy players in the FA pool. I think there will be too much talent in the league if we don't delete 60-80 of those players. If we draft 3-4 rounds and leave everyone else for FA... My double A team very well could end up being better than my MLB team was in S3SL! Of course, I sucked in S3SL... LOL

I'm running a test sim now. I didn't sign any FAs and have just been having the teams use what we already have.

    Re: 2031: A New Beginning

Stats seems similar to previous seasons with the pitching going up slightly...I think that was probably due to teams using a lot filler.

I'm leaning towards deleting most, if not all, of the players from the contracted teams. I may leave a few of the older guys that should get into the HoF, but the rest will most likely go.

Maybe keep enough for one round, maybe two... and a handful in FA for Slyder, CJ, and JC to bid $30M on. LOL

The Undertaker did not make the cut. I deleted all of the specs and all of the FAs except players that are going to the HoF or have a realistic shot of getting in. I edited the draft class, too.

Darn right I would have, if there were a round! If you're going to be New York you have to think like Steinbrenner!

I like the pace of the draft. Keep it up guys.

The only reason I haven't started FA is because of the holidays. I figure it would probably be best to start it up after to maximize participation (hopefully).

You guys can send in trades though.
