Re: Free Agency and the CPU / Open Teams

The more I think about it the more I like the idea of turning it on in round 2.

Active teams still get rewarded by getting the first shot, but the CPU teams aren't completely ignored in free agency.

    Let's do a poll!

Concur with turning it on round 2, a lot of good FAs don't sign in period 1

Re: Free Agency and the CPU / Open Teams

Well I have an idea for humans to do the open teams, but honestly there'd be too many conditions to really reduce an bias involved. Actually It'd probably only work for me since I routinely hit these conditions... sigh... Anyways to work for another team you would have to A) Not participate in Free agency and B) Do bidding for a team in the other league so you can't gain an advantage. Though the only people who'd not participate in Free agency would be peoples like myself who are completely broke and could only offer MLCs at the end. But I doubt there'd ever be enough people in one league who dont want to participate to fill in all the open teams for the other.

If you do go computers I'd definitely say wait til round 2. This way humans get the first crack at the top talent but at the same time there will still be good players left to sign for their teams.

Re: Free Agency and the CPU / Open Teams

While out today I think I came up with an idea that I like, is fair for all, makes it easier for me, and hopefully results in one less thing for people to complain about...hopefully being the key word.

    • Free agency periods 1 through 3 = humans only
    • Scraps round = CPU only (me signing players based on needs essentially)
    • Sim spring training
    • Humans can sign scraps after spring training

Human GMs have first crack and 3 rounds to sign who they want. If you don't get what you want, then tough shit. I'll sign players for the open teams to fill their needs (mostly). I'll run ST and after ST humans will get the leftovers if they so wish.

    Thoughts? Complaints? Too bad.
