Attention! TSSL FAQ (version 2.0 updated 01/26/12)

This is a work in process.

    Roster

Any MLB player traded or acquired goes directly to AAA. Rosters are expanded to 40 in September, but must be cut back to 25 if you make the playoffs.

    Promotions and Demotions:

[Position - Name - current level to new level]

    Promotions
    SP Hockey AAA to MLB
    MR Zito AA to AAA
    C General A to AA

    Demotions
    SP Porter MLB to AAA
    MR Foster AAA to AA
    C CJ AA to A

Players should be grouped on the following:
    1. Promotion, demotion, or release.
    2. The level they are going from and to.
    3. Listed by position in this manner:

    SP
    MR
    CL
    C
    1B
    2B
    3B
    SS
    LF
    CF
    RF
    DH

The game lists players in this manner and this will make it SO MUCH EASIER for me.

    Rotation

[Specify 4-man or 5-man and highest rested or strict]
    1) Al
    2) Bob
    3) Charlie
    4) Derek
    5) Edgar

    Spot Starter
    {If wanted, please specify the percent you would want him to start, IE 10%, 25% etc}
    1. empty

    Mop-up
    1) Fred
    2)

    Middle Relief
    1) Greg
    2) Harry
    3) Ismail
    4) Jeff

    Set-up
    1) Kevin
    2) Larry

    Closer
    1) Moe

    Lineups

[Specify LHP + DH, RHP + DH, both]
    AL/NL both use DH
    There is no inter-league play.

    LINEUP VS RHP/LHP+DH
    1. C Cobbs
    2. 2B Kuntz
    3. CF Ogai
    4. 1B Howery
    5. 3B Cabrera
    6. LF Ramirez
    7. SS Avendano
    8. RF Armbruster
    9. DH Brown

No more depth charts. Everyone gets either an auto-depth chart. If you do not have a 1B backup, you can tell me to auto your dept charts and then manually load an OF or another position player into the 1B slot. This should be kept to a minimum.

No more custom setting of minor league lineups, if you want the best to play, release some players with no future with your team (i.e. scrubs over the age of 26 with no significant talent to reach.) You have two options when handling your minor leagues.

    1. Tell me to auto manage your minors. This means the AI will promote and demote as it sees fit between A and AAA.
    2. Tell me to individually auto each staff and lineup at each minor league level. This allows you to promote and demote individually between minor league levels.

[Position Changes (only for positions players have learned)]
    LF Ramirez to RF MLB
    SP Zito to MR AAA

    Draft

Draft occurs in the off-season before FA starts. There is no trading of draft picks.

    Trades

    Format:

    Team X trades:

Position - Player Name - Stars - Salary

    Salary Subtotal:

    Team Y Trades:

Position - Player Name - Stars - Salary

    Salary Subtotal:

    For example:

    Philadelphia Trades:

    2B Chase Utley - 2.5 stars - $830k

    Salary Subtotal: $830k

    New York (N) Trades:

    RF Kenny Kelly - 2.0 stars - $439,714
MR Heath Bell - 1.0 star - MLC
    $100k

    Salary Subtotal: $439,714
    Cash Subtotal: $100k

That is the basic format that I want. I won't nitpick too much so long as the trades are "Team X Trades" and not "Team X Receives." I would like all trades to be going in the same direction so-to-speak.

There are a few trading rules as always (unless overruled by the TC)

    A. There are no three team trades.
    B. The game will only allow a team to trade up to 5 players at a team (max of 10 in a deal; 5 from each team). There are ways around this by breaking up the trades, but let's keep it to a minimum. Try for quality instead of quantity.
    C. No trading of draft picks.
    D. A limited amount of money may be included in a deal:

    i. 1/3 of a player's annual salary may be included for a player under 10 million dollars in annual salary (for a 9 million dollar player, you can give 3 million per year).
ii. 2/5 of a player's annual salary may be included for a player 10 million or more in annual salary (for a 10 million dollar player, you can give 4 million).

    Considerations in making a trade:

    A. Financial: This is simple, if the amount of money you receive in player salary in a trade outnumbers your FA available money, the game won't allow the trade and it will be vetoed.

    B. Deception. If a player is injured or has a serious problem, and the person is deceived into doing a deal without them knowing, we will stop the trade to make sure the person receiving the problematic player knows.

    C. Talent discrepancy. This is easily the most touchy subject, and I think we are pretty strict on trades that are horribly unfair. Strive for quality instead of quantity.

    D. There is no harassing / badgering of TC members or the commissioner. This, along with continued blatant attempts to rip off other GMs, may result in draft pick loss.

IV. Things to consider when trading:

    A. Finances
    B. Fairness to both teams

    V. Trade Council (as of 03/03/13)
    Providence A's
    Kingdom
    OrioleMagic
    Porter99
    HollywoodLeo
    Hammer
    Zodious

    Finances
I changed some financial stuff so there were at least some minimums to start with in 2024.

    -everyone has $20 mil cash
-everyone has at least a fan interest of "50" (I bumped up people)
-everyone has a fan loyalty of at least "fair"
-everyone has a team market of at least "average"
-all ticket prices have been reset to $10

Obviously, that will change, but I wanted to give everyone a clean slate somewhat since the computer changed a few things.

And a few already had their fan interest drop even though I didn't sim a day lol. There are a few that say 49 now. They're still higher than they were.

    Promo Days:

Turn Back the Clock Day (once per year)
$75k / may increase attendance 15% for that game

Fitted Hat Day (once per month)
$100K / may increase attendance 20% for that game

Bobble Head Doll Day (once per month)
$250k / may increase attendance 25% for that game

Baseball Card Day (once per month)
$125k / may increase attendance 25% for that game

Commemorative Patch Day (once per month)
$150k / may increase attendance 30% for that game

    Free Agency

    1) All offers must be sent to me through PM in the following format:
    Team-Offers-Pos-Name-Years-Amount-Per Year
Ex: Rangers offer SS-Michael Young 5 Years @ $5,000,000 Per Year

    2) I will accept offers on a maximum of 20 different players per team. You can bid on all 20 players at once if you want. If you are outbid, then you will be able to bid on a different player instead. If you are outbid on a player, then you are allowed to re-bid on that player and it will not count against your total offers. These 20 players will span all 3 free agent periods.

    3) Offers received before the stated start time will not be accepted.

    4) Offers received after the stated end time will not be accepted.

    5) You cannot change your offer once it has been submitted. You can bid again however if you feel it may not be high enough.

    6) Any player signed to a major league contract during FA will not be eligible to be traded until July 1st. Any trades sent in involving those players before that time will be ignored.

    7) Trading during Free Agency is allowed but you are responsible for your own FA money situation.

    8) If a player does not like the offering team, I will inform the GM via PM and he will be able to bid on another player assuming there is enough time for me to do so.

    9) You can retract your offer on a player, but he will most likely not listen to any more offers from you for the rest of free agency.

    Financial Rules
    1) Each team will be able to spend what your financial page allows during the entire FA signing periods.

    2) If you want to offer $10 million or more on a certain player, you are limited to 3 of those types of offers. Two of them can be between $10-$15 million while the 3rd one can be up to $20 million. All 3 offers can be $10-$15 million but you are only allowed 1 offer of more than $15 million. If you are outbid on the player, or the player doesn't like your team, you will be able to offer on somebody else instead.

Note: This will be blind bidding. I will load all the offers as soon as I can before the end of the period and then post the signings in this thread. The site will be fully uploaded after all periods so you can see the signings and your team pages.

Re: TSSL FAQ (version 2.0 updated 12/26/11)

Send trades to me. I need confirmation from both. If one GM is on the TC, then I only need confirmation from the other.

Please make sure both GMs send me the deal. The only exception is when TC members are involved. They may post it the TC, but any non-TC member should still send me a copy.

    Re: TSSL Rules

FYI - some of these rules are intended to make things fair for everyone. My goal is to make things fair for everyone. It also makes things easier for everyone. Everyone has complete control over their roster (FA, releases, promotions, demotions, draft, trades, extensions, etc) and also has the benefit of promo days to improve their finances (over time).

    Free agency and open teams:

    • Free agency periods 1 through 3 = humans only
    • Scraps round = Open teams only (me signing players based on needs essentially)
    • Sim spring training
    • Humans can sign scraps after spring training
