I ought to fail it just because he chose to celebrate LT being injured in the PM

Someone needs to tell brewersrock that his team isn't going to compete this year.

I'll look over this deal a lot more before making a real decision, but I'm leaning towards fail at a cursory glance.

I know what you mean. It's getting annoying, because I agree brewcrew probably won't compete. I just don't get why CJ thinks he can slip these deals through.

    Fail to the 10th power

CJ seems to be playing the quantity=quality game here

Fail. Marrero is better than every prospect that CJ is giving combined....and the #1 pick added to that is WAY too much for Lackey, a couple average pitchers, and some mediocre prospects to replace brewcrew's better prospects.

That's 3 fails in a row, meaning it's official, right?

I don't want to go pissing off cjkalt with a message too early.

    Re: I Apologize (aka: LAA/WAS attempt 4)

Leo, I just had a IM conversation with CJ that I am trying to paste in here. I just don't think he understood the role of the TC. I am not sure I got through to him, but I wanted to paste the conversation and cannot. It pastes into the reply box, but when I hit submit it is not there. If you can click edit to my post as a moderator, maybe you can see it and make it visible to all...

I am on AIM if you cannot. Thanks

theseigeinator (3:13:24 PM): i get your point, i woulda offered more for hardy, but hey it happens
theseigeinator (3:13:34 PM): but this next version, he gets a whole starting rotation
    OHOrioleMagic (3:13:50 PM): next version?
    theseigeinator (3:13:54 PM): version 4
theseigeinator (3:14:03 PM): brewcrew isn't giving up
OHOrioleMagic (3:14:29 PM): I cannot personally pass a trade for the #1 pick, which IMHO is Behemoth... w/o you adding one of your stud specs
theseigeinator (3:14:39 PM): he gets a 22 yr old SP in MLB 8-7-8
theseigeinator (3:15:10 PM): if the deal was passed, he'd be a lock for the playoffs
OHOrioleMagic (3:15:35 PM): Washington??? I haven't looked at his roster, but other TC members feel very differently
theseigeinator (3:15:46 PM): his OF is stacked
theseigeinator (3:15:54 PM): zimmerman and nick johnson are very good
theseigeinator (3:16:17 PM): the next move he'd make would be trading the 4th OF for a SS
OHOrioleMagic (3:16:42 PM): I don't think O'Sullivan and Lackey are worth Behemoth... I am sorry
OHOrioleMagic (3:17:03 PM): I hate when this happens
theseigeinator (3:17:45 PM): i wouldn't even pick him
theseigeinator (3:17:48 PM): if i got marrero
    theseigeinator (3:17:52 PM): why would i draft a 1B
OHOrioleMagic (3:18:06 PM): because he is the best value out there IMHO
OHOrioleMagic (3:18:20 PM): but that is certainly only speculation at this point
    theseigeinator (3:18:29 PM): I mean
theseigeinator (3:18:35 PM): i added 2 of my top 10 specs
theseigeinator (3:18:38 PM): from the previous deal
theseigeinator (3:18:48 PM): if the TC won't let him try to compete
OHOrioleMagic (3:18:52 PM): it is an issue of quality for quality for me personally
theseigeinator (3:18:52 PM): why let him be an owner?
OHOrioleMagic (3:19:05 PM): the TC has no say on whether a TC competes or not
OHOrioleMagic (3:19:16 PM): they judge the player value being exchanged
OHOrioleMagic (3:19:37 PM): I don't blame you for trying to build a core of superstars that should peak in 3 years...
OHOrioleMagic (3:19:48 PM): but you have to give quality for quality
theseigeinator (3:19:51 PM): understand i'm not angry or anything i'm just trying to pick your mind to get this done
theseigeinator (3:20:04 PM): lackey, santana, o'sullivan, and saunders is pretty good quality
theseigeinator (3:20:16 PM): thats a very good rotation
OHOrioleMagic (3:20:23 PM): if the pick were the 10th or higher it might be different... maybe if there was a specific player it would be easier to evaluate
OHOrioleMagic (3:20:29 PM): that is not the point
    theseigeinator (3:20:59 PM): 3 SP
theseigeinator (3:21:08 PM): sorry go ahead
OHOrioleMagic (3:21:09 PM): I feel Lackey and Marrero are a wash
    theseigeinator (3:21:18 PM): see
OHOrioleMagic (3:21:23 PM): the rest are fine to exchange for each other
theseigeinator (3:21:29 PM): lackey's value is higher than that
OHOrioleMagic (3:21:30 PM): The #1 pick as always been the issue
    theseigeinator (3:21:32 PM): he's a 4.5 overall
OHOrioleMagic (3:21:36 PM): I totally disagree
theseigeinator (3:21:51 PM): in the only simulated season he had a 3.5 era
OHOrioleMagic (3:22:08 PM): He is a 31 year old SP with ONE year of stats that would give him Ace value
OHOrioleMagic (3:22:23 PM): 3.5 ERA is arguably not ace material
theseigeinator (3:22:25 PM): but there has only been 1 simulated season
theseigeinator (3:22:35 PM): he plays in washington
OHOrioleMagic (3:22:39 PM): That is the sad truth and I noted that in my argument in the TC
OHOrioleMagic (3:22:53 PM): You are putting the TC in a tough position as it is
OHOrioleMagic (3:23:01 PM): We have to evaluate based on what we have
OHOrioleMagic (3:23:15 PM): Lackey at 31 is no where near Behemoth
OHOrioleMagic (3:23:33 PM): I think your a cool dude, but I cannot change my vote as it stands
    theseigeinator (3:23:41 PM): i mean
theseigeinator (3:23:43 PM): he's no lock
theseigeinator (3:24:21 PM): but even adding a 3.0 22 yr old starter in MLB and a SP spec i mean
theseigeinator (3:24:25 PM): let me ask u this
theseigeinator (3:24:29 PM): what spec would i have to add
OHOrioleMagic (3:24:48 PM): we look at the individual ratings and stats much more than the star ratings
OHOrioleMagic (3:25:04 PM): I am looking at the draft pool one sec
    theseigeinator (3:25:47 PM): k
OHOrioleMagic (3:28:03 PM): I don't want to suggest a particular spec, I think I would be overstepping my bounds as a TC member
OHOrioleMagic (3:28:31 PM): There are about 4-6 players in the pool that are worth more than what you are offering IMHO
    theseigeinator (3:28:48 PM): wait
theseigeinator (3:28:54 PM): there are 4-6 specs
    theseigeinator (3:28:55 PM): worth more
    OHOrioleMagic (3:29:02 PM): absolutely
theseigeinator (3:29:08 PM): than the whole starting rotation
OHOrioleMagic (3:29:13 PM): Behemoth, both top two pitchers
OHOrioleMagic (3:29:26 PM): Your perspective is different that everyone elses
OHOrioleMagic (3:29:34 PM): the whole rotation does not matter
theseigeinator (3:29:36 PM): (apparently not brewcrew)
OHOrioleMagic (3:29:39 PM): quality for quality
OHOrioleMagic (3:29:54 PM): brewcrew lacks credibility as an established GM
    theseigeinator (3:30:05 PM): but also
theseigeinator (3:30:11 PM): guys like ervin santana and saunders
    theseigeinator (3:30:13 PM): were boosted
theseigeinator (3:30:22 PM): so they are worth more than the stats indicate
OHOrioleMagic (3:30:34 PM): No one wants to see him trade that team into an 81 and 83 record season and then get disinterested and become inactive
theseigeinator (3:31:06 PM): see i think thats it right there
theseigeinator (3:31:14 PM): you guys are worried about the league
OHOrioleMagic (3:31:15 PM): just because they were boosted by the commish does not mean we would look differently at them
theseigeinator (3:31:17 PM): and not the players
OHOrioleMagic (3:31:22 PM): AS WE SHOULD BE
OHOrioleMagic (3:31:48 PM): my TC Philosophy has a #1 point to consider
OHOrioleMagic (3:31:59 PM): that is "will this trade affect the parity of the league?"
theseigeinator (3:32:12 PM): LAA will still finish last
    OHOrioleMagic (3:32:17 PM): sure
OHOrioleMagic (3:32:23 PM): and get the #1 pick next year
OHOrioleMagic (3:32:30 PM): if we let this trade go through
OHOrioleMagic (3:32:40 PM): Washington has a mediocre to above average season
OHOrioleMagic (3:32:49 PM): LAA loses and gets the #1 pick
    theseigeinator (3:32:52 PM): he's a WC team
theseigeinator (3:32:59 PM): have u looked at the team
OHOrioleMagic (3:33:20 PM): 3 years from now, LAA and Was are at polar opposite ends of this league
OHOrioleMagic (3:33:46 PM): all because of an irresponsible decision by brewcrew first and the TC second
OHOrioleMagic (3:33:53 PM): the value is not commensurate

    Re: I Apologize (aka: LAA/WAS attempt 4)

not that it matters, but fail...this really is getting ridiculous. Like OM said, that parity of the league is the point here. As well as BCR being an inexperienced GM. These pitchers will not make Washington a lock for the playoffs. At best, they will be an average to a slightly above average team. At what expense? A great future? Marerro will be a great player, and so will the draft pick. The pitchers can fill out a rotation, but that's about it. BCR isn't experienced enough to understand the effect this trade could have on his team, and CJ is just trying to take advantage of his inexperience.
