Why would anyone give Meikle that much money? The difference between the MLB and OOTP is that GM's reward talent, not production. Getting 25-32 homers a year shouldn't get you $14.5 a year.

I thought I was pushing it offering 9 Million given those stats, but given that it is a seasoned and successful GM, I will give him the benefit of the doubt. It may be the one hole that he needed to plug and if he had the money and is making a run at the Championship... It sometimes makes sense to overpay.

My other reasons: Around 30 million comes off the books, I doubt I'll resign Mitsubishi the following season, and well, I just could.

Probably overpaid vastly in dollar amount for billingsley, not sure what anyone else offered him, but when your team blows you're in the unenviable position of having to offer bigger money to land guys... I like my rotation though, and now I can move West to the bullpen, as he has been a mediocre starter. Hopefully I land Cox... that pretty much would finish the off-season.
