We're talking about protecting young guys and guys in their prime. Typically, those guys wouldn't be hitting a wall

A LOT of times.. a LOT... In this league already, Craig Brazell, and Khalil Greene... in S3SL too many to mention over the seasons.. but on this year's roster ones including Charles Bunyard, George Robeson, William Salazar, Leslie Eckard, Frederick Cornett, and Frank Llamas... I could list the ones in nick's league too, but I think you get the point

All I can tell you is that in my experience, I've had more 25 year old stars die than I've had younger or older guys improve.

BUT THEY CAN... and DO... and I don't see God, of Allah, or Jaweh, or Budda, or any other deity putting a limit on that either...

Just sack up and take the positives and the negatives...

I've had more SPECTS die... but like in the real world, the appraising of spects is a high risk thing...

I have had as many or more MLer's boost than I have had die in EVERY league... 6.0, 6.5, it don't matter

and I've been doing this a LONG while

Ok. Like I said, I don't think I've ever seen a ML player boost on one of my teams. If you think it's an issue, fine, but I don't worry about that

    Re: Franchise Players

So... since you don't see it supposedly... then you would not mind having all boosts of any player negated to then protect whatever 2 superstars?

I think if this is imposed then positive development needs to be adhered.

It's a double standard to say "oh, players don't get worse overnight!" and then turn around and say "oh, players do get better overnight!"

You can't have it both ways, people
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Thats a fair point, and I AGREE WITH IT. The thing is, I have almost never seen it happen

Let me guess... you support the "everybody is a winner" attitude in youth competitions, science fairs, etc too... the disillusioned who think you can hide from negatives... you start playing checkers with everyone having kings so they don't feel bad??? a mulligan on every shot in golf you don't think you hit to your talent level??? gutter-guards in bowling???

    ridiculous

    Re: Franchise Players

I bowl every weekend without gutter guards, and I do not agree with the everyone is a winner mentality. However, to protect the REALISM OF THE GAME OF BASEBALL, DAVID WRIGHT SHOULD NOT LOSE ACTUAL POINTS. If he loses talent, fine, because he may or may not have reached it. But if a 20 something players loses ACTUALS then thats just not very realistic. I said nothing about talent ratings, let 'em drop, I agree.

You've almost never seen it happen, so we should just go by that.

Well I have seen it happen, and so have a lot of other people here.

I don't think I've ever loved anyone as much as Dave in this thread. Really great stuff.
