seriously? I mean...I understand that he might want to get something for a guy he may not sign, but Upton is in his prime...and for a 9,4,10,5 reliever? really?

I'll pass it but only for the reason that OM made it known that he'd move Upton for whatever would pass the TC and apparently the Mets were the only team to step up.

Obviously its unfair in terms of straight up talent, but it seems more like a dump that was available to anybody paying attention rather than any sort of collusion. Theres gotta be a little bit of an incentive to be a more active GM rather than someone who checks once a week and something like this bears that out.

I guess I can see both sides of the argument here.

Maybe we can ignore the deadline part and just force NY to give up enough to satisfy us? Or just veto it. I thought we should cut some slack given the situation around this trade, but I certainly don't think its a fair trade in terms of talent, or even remotely close.

If OM hadn't started a thread saying he'd basically give Upton away for anything, theres no way I'd pass this.

I passed it because of his other argument, that OM's not going to sign Upton and he's just getting what he can for him now.
