When the draft rolls around, do we do that? Or is that simmed?

We'll probably do 2 live rounds, followed by auto.

Two live rounds? How does that work. Do all GMs have to be online in site chat or something?

If you're not there, you'll get an auto-pick.

Re: Question on the basic concept of sim leagues.

    position changes...

Can I put anyone anywhere I want?

Or am I restricted to where their profile ranks their defensive abilities?

Or am I even further restricted to what position it says they are on my roster?

Using Lance Berkman as my example, if I go to his profile

#17 Lance Berkman, First Base, 31 yrs, San Diego Padres - Out of the Park Baseball Report

It ranks his defensive abilities as such

    Fielding Ratings
    1B : 5 (Range), .982 (Fielding Pct.)
    LF : 5 (Range), .983 (Fielding Pct.)
    CF : 2 (Range), .992 (Fielding Pct.)
    RF : 4 (Range), .985 (Fielding Pct.)

It says he's a 1st baseman on my roster

So... my question is, can I put Berkman anywhere I want? Or am I restricted to 1B or anywhere in the OF? or am I restricted to just 1st base unless I request a position change as stated in the FAQ?

No and no. You can play Brian Giles at C if you want to.

Just an example. Sometimes you're lucky and they learn the new position if you play them there. Or things go horribly wrong and they set error records.

How reliable are the scout's comments on your minor leagues page?

IE, if he says he can play in AAA should I promote him to AAA even though I may not have otherwise just looking at his stats/ratings?

I always let the computer do all that for me, it's easier and really has no proven effect one way or another (players are going to die or boost no matter what level they're in)
