I have like.. 4 SPs and one should never be starting for anyone.. and I lose one for 3-4 weeks. Un****ingbelievable. Anyone want to give me some SPs perhaps maybe kinda? Perhaps it's time for Gene Lowry or Kyle Drabek to start... shit.

As figured, the bats are abound and the pitching sucks like no tomorrow.

ah frick, i didn't get my changes in. I didn't expect the first sim to come so shortly after spring training, but its my fault for not checking.

Thursday 4/13/2013 :
Charles Patchell was injured while running the bases.
Diagnosis: Torn Posterior Cruciate Ligament.
He is definitely out for the season!

GAAAAH. this was supposed to be his breakout season. and I was really looking forward to the first full season of Patchell/Zakrzewski in the same line-up. just between the two of them, they've missed two full seasons and an additional 10 weeks of other various injuries. suck suck suck.

very few positives to take from this sim, but my inability to get changes in on time has a lot to do with that. well, at least my boys Jared Hughes and Dellin Betances each had one lights-out start. Hughes vs KC: 7 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 1 BB and 12 K's in a 2-1 victory. Betances vs CHW: 7.2 IP, 6 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 15 K's in a 5-0 victory. too bad they both got lit up in their other starts.

goes from 8-10-9-10-8 to 6-10-8-10-8... so saddening

reasonably good sim, otherwise... only 2 games back in the woeful AL Central. the new acquisitions of Chris Shelton and Frankie Liriano looked pretty good in their first sim as Indians. Shelton hit .302 with 3 HRs and 14 RBI. and Liriano went 2-0 with a 3.57 ERA and 40 Ks.

and i just noticed this, but once Dellin Betances reaches his talent rating of 10 in Stuff(he's a 9 overall right now), all 5 of my starting pitchers will have a 10 overall rating in Stuff. too bad they all give up a ton of homers because of it.

Well that was an amazing sim. 9-4 record, and three key boosts, namely:

Matthew Cullens seems to have improved his pure stuff!
Matthew Cullens is hitting his spots better, his command improved!

Now on the verge of being very valuable trade bait at 6-7-7 actuals and 7-9-8 talent with 7 endurance.

Bill Keyser increased his bat control, resulting in more contact!

Goes from a ML backup to a potential starter if he ever fills out.

but the biggest of them all...

Yovani Gallardo seems to have improved his pure stuff!

Yovani Gallardo is hitting his spots better, his command improved!

Improves from 7-10-9 talent to 8-10-10 talent with 6-10-10 actuals. Apparently he likes the big spots and bright lights.

Catcher John Buck regained his contact rating of 8 and as a result had a great sim with 4 HR, 13 RBI, .415 avg, and 1.198 OPS, just hopefully he keeps this up

I'm getting close to just get rid of everybody I have though, so much disappointment

looks like the Chisox are ready to be a force after spending a few seasons building up the farm... you can say whatever you want about the strength(or lack thereof) of the AL Central, but you can't question it's parity. has there even been repeat division champions in the AL Central since this league started? i don't think so, but i could be wrong.

anyway, the Injuns are underachieving but only 5 games out, which isn't too crippling. i'm really kicking myself for being late on getting changes in for the first sim, because I deprived myself of about 50 AB's from Chris Shelton and 4 or 5 starts from Francisco Liriano, both of whom were still in AAA after acquiring them via trade/FA. they've been tremendous thus far... through 5 starts, Liriano is 4-0 with a 3.11 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 43 Ks in 37.2 IP. and despite being a lefty, he's dominating right handed hitters. they're batting .159 with 30 Ks in 88 ABs against him. and Chris Shelton is giving me the line-up protection I was looking for, which in turn is helping Andy Marte return to form. Shelton is hitting .296 with 7 HR and 27 RBI in only 98 AB's.

so things are looking up, the team just needs to play up to its ability. and some positive development wouldn't hurt; i'm getting hammered with negative development this season. Charles Patchell took another post-injury talent loss, reducing him to a borderline-above average player. and considering he once had MVP-type talent, that really blows.

I like what I got in the draft, especially Lopez in round 4. Pretty much exactly what I wanted through the first four rounds. Props to PAnda Bear.

the top prospect rankings have always puzzled me. besides my 2013 1st-rounder(Garcia), and perhaps Jesse Harris... my farm system is quite weak. yet its listed as the 10th best in baseball, and 3B Frank Rhoton(8-8-8-7-5) as the 14th best prospect in the game.
