Prediction: Could this be the year? After an impressive first half effort, the Pirates just missed a playoff berth. With the addition of Ray King and Ian Snell to the bullpen(replacing Gil Meche and Travis Phelps), and the full-time debut of Aussie Bill Helms, the team may be on the cusp of greatness. Pedro Jareno has to be considered on of the league's top young players, and will likely have another All Star appearance in his second full season. I'll go with a second place finish, just out of the playoffs. Levin should get the ROY.

You lack depth, but your starters are all solid-great. The weak bench will really hurt you if you suffer any big injuries. Once Helms and Kent are ready your rotation will become scary. How Moore performed that well with 6 movement baffels me. You have a solid pen with no major weaknesses in it, or any part of your team sans the bench. I'm guessing you'll finish in 2nd or 3rd in the division with a legitamate shot at the Wild Card. Predicting 93 wins for you this year.

You're the champ and you had 99 wins last year. I think you basically win the division easily again with Me, Milwaukee, and the Pirates fighting to get to 95 wins and the Wild Card. I'm guessing 105 wins for you. Obviously an injury or what not can effect the division race in the Central GREATLY. I'm pitching heavy, Milwaukee is offensive heavy, and Pitts is the balance between the two. I just hope I added enough this offseason to become 8 wins better I believe I need to be to make the playoffs. The Central is just so hard to predict outside of the top and bottom.

I don't know if I win again...I think any of the 4 of us (STL, CHI, MIL, and PIT) have a chance...and I'll be shocked if we as a division don't take the Wild Card again. We've gotten the Wild Card in 4 out of the 5 seasons so far in this league. The NL Central has been solid. Our division has represented the NL in the WS 3 out of 5 times, too. We, well I, won the only WS for the NL as well.

Wow I didn't even think about that. Cubbies made the World Series in 08, Milwaukee in 09, and St. Louis in 10' and you managed to win it all. Maybe it's time for the Pirates to represent the NL. And Haren and Harden in the rotation with Street as your closer. You just need everyone else to be serviceable. Plus with the trades you pulled off last year. St. Louis probably has it's best offensive in years. Sizemore for a full season will be big.

MIL never made the WS...Cincinnati did in 2006. Washington made it last year with Florida making it the other time. The West has yet to send anyone.

Oh ya it was only the NLCS Milwaukee made it to, right? So every year the NLCS has had the central at least make it to the NLCS. I remember Cincy won it all, and got back to the NLCS the next year. So if the pattern continues, the Central will make it back to the World Series in 2012.

Ya I lost in the LCS to the Cubs the year they went and took the White Sox to 7.
I lost the following year to the Nats in 5 games again in the LCS.
Last year I got manhandled in the playoffs with an underperforming rotation.

If last year was a fluke for Bush and McCarthy realizes he doesnt totally suck I would be hard to beat considering with the way my pen has been the past couple years get it to the 6th and its game over.

"Oh, don't mind me, I'm rebuilding now" then you win at least 80 games
