    San Diego - St. Louis

    San Diego Trades:

    SP Dewon Brazelton - 3.5 stars - $4.007143 mil

    Salary Subtotal: $4.007143 mil

    St. Louis Trades:

    2011 1st round pick
    MR Julio Mateo - 3.0 stars - $2.25 mil
    MR Brad Thompson - 3.0 stars - $4.25 mil
    LF/CF Drew Rundle - 4.0 star spec - MLC

    Salary Subtotal: $6.5 mil

    note
I plan on making the draft deeper next year so if I end up making the playoffs again and get a low pick, it'll be better than what a low pick was this year...just an FYI.

Pass, although I don't see how adding salary will help San Diego persay, especially with a low first rounder, but, it's even.

Brazelton is a free agent-to-be by the way...

IMO, Brazelton's ratings should warrant more in return because it's doubtful that SD can immediately turn that package of players and the pick around and get someone close to Brazelton's talent if he wanted to. That's how I rate a fair deal.

You might want to check if SD is unable to re-sign Brazelton. If that's the case, I could be convinced that this deal is good based on SD's limited options.

    so that's a fail, right?

He hasn't tried to sign him. I checked and Brazelton says "in prime, test market, offer?" Brazelton's rating are great yes, but he hasn't performed as well as he did last year.

I suppose, although I may allow it just to address vote shortage with some of our council members going AWOL.

Re: San Diego - St. Louis

as far as TC members go, I guess I may have to look into replacing people...though I'm not sure who to ask really.

General and Nick have sorta of been MIA.

Hammer and Slyder usually vote though...they just haven't been around. We could trim it to 5 I suppose.

anyway, Mateo is cheap and under contract. He can keep Thompson at the same price for next year if he lets him sit in AAA for a sim (he won't reach the required service time). The pick will be better than the same pick this year. He wanted Kuntz, but no way in hell am I giving up my starting 2B (only 22 and still filling out), my 1st rounder, and a spec for an under-performing 30 year old FA-to-be...who knows if I'll be able to sign him, too.

I agree that you shouldn't have to include Kuntz. However, when I consider that redsr has already been dicked in the butt by his trading Peavy and Upton, I'd be hesitant on any trade he makes.

Forget it, I'll just allow the trade. It's just Brazelton.

I'm not trying to dick him, but I understand your point. He's trying to get picks and specs so I don't think Brazelton is part of his future...not that Mateo is, but he wanted him to finalize the deal. So far he'll have 3 1st round picks next year (assuming this passes) and he's improved what was a barren farm system. Thompson is only 28 and could still be useful if he chooses to keep him. He has the money to add a whole $2 mil.

I know he's trying to trade more...I'd like to see him get a 1st round pick as part of any deal for Howard...otherwise, I can't see him being able to acquire anymore 1st round picks.

Eh, we don't need them. If the Roman Empire can rely on a triumvirate in rule, TSSL can too.
