    Looks like Haren is the leading candidate for the NL Cy Young with his 21 - 5 record, 2.64 ERA, 218.1 innings, 66 walks, 223k's, and 1.13 WHIP. It would my 2nd Cy winner (Carpenter won the 1st year).

    Yeah, Leak's been good but I think Miller will get this one. I would love back-to-back RoYs...don't think I have a shot at one next year though.
    I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

    Ah, give me something clever to say here.

    That's where I'm hoping I pick it up. Cletus Kassidy, 2011 ROY. We'll see how the kid does in his cup of coffee this sim. See if he can help us out in the playoffs!

    Sunday 10/1/2010: Denton and Jackson receive Pitcher of the Month award
    The best month of September in the National League certainly had Chicago (N)'s right-hander Edwin Jackson, earning him the Pitcher of the Month award. His record of 5-0 in 6 was among the leagues best this month. In 46 innings of work he allowed just 26 hits while striking out 47, compiling an ERA of just 0.39. Edwin pitched a shutout as well. Opposing players hit .213 against Edwin this season. While posting an ERA of 2.84 he went 13-11 in 32 starts, fanning 242 and walking 82 hitters. Edwin has pitched 2 shutouts and 2 complete games.

    Monday 9/25/2010: Player of the Week honors go to Mench and Gomes
    The National League Player of the Week award goes to Jonny Gomes, Chicago (N)'s starting leftfielder. Jonny was on fire, hitting .500 with 4 HR and 11 RBI.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Jackson really pulled himself together this year, and proved he can be a co-ace with Hirsh.
    Davila 1st in 8 offensive categories. Should come down to the wire for MVP between him and Villegas. Davila came close to winning the triple crown.
    Even though he missed the first two sims of the year in AAA my CF, Weddo Tsugiharu had a pretty good year. He got his local popularity to 6/6 and his national popularity to 5/6.
    Anyways Weddo hit: .302, 8 Homers, 44 RBI, 136 Stolen Bases (He was caught 10 times). He was 1st in SB's, and tied for 5th in runs with 110.
    Not the best rookie season, but I expect him to get better once he fills out.
    Re: 2010 Random Ramblings
    How to improve on a 96-66 campaign?...with a 99-63 one, best record in team history and a second straight AL East championship. Some highlights...
    Rookie Andrew Miller - 24-13, 3.03 ERA, 1.22 WHIP
    Jake Peavy - 19-9, 2.94 ERA, 1.03 WHIP
    Carlos Zambrano - 17-10, 3.84 ERA, 1.20 WHIP
    Delmon Young - .287, 30 HR, 93 RBI, 27 steals, .889 OPS
    James Poulin - .288, 24 HRs, 83 RBI, 11 steals, .832 OPS
    Adam Pavkovich - team leading 31 HRs
    Chad Orvella - 3.30 ERA, 16 saves, 1.16 WHIP
    Batting AVG: .261 (14th)
    Homeruns: 219 (2nd) - chicks dig the long ball
    Walks: 530 (10th)
    Stolen Bases: 101 (28th)
    Runs Scored: 838 (8th)
    Pitching ERA: 3.61 (3rd)
    Opponents AVG: .238 (1st)
    HRs Allowed: 109 (3rd)
    Walks Allowed: 497 (13th)
    Runs Allowed: 649 (3rd)
    God forbid he wouldn't be first in steals considering.
    Re: 2010 Random Ramblings
    Its funny that I won 12 more games than last season and actually did worse in the standings lol.
    Batting AVG: .277 (3rd)
    Homeruns: 202 (5th)
    Walks: 572 (7th)
    Stolen Bases: 177 (14th)
    Runs Scored: 930 (2nd)
    Pitching ERA: 4.38 (17th)
    Opponents AVG: .261 (19th)
    HRs Allowed: 146 (T-13th)
    Walks Allowed: 522 (17th)
    Runs Allowed: 769 (15th)
    Offensively, only ANA was better than mine in the whole leauge if you go by runs scored and such. Morris and Tejada had 116 RBIs each and Carlos Lee added another 104. Eddy Rodriguez hit over .320 and actually showed some pop with 10 HRs and a .861 OPS. Morgan Ensberg surprisingly hit 20 HRs in limited time. Now about that pitching....
    Felix and Livan each won 19 games, Liriano probably would have 15+ wins if he stayed healthy all year. Burnett despite the 4.75 ERA still won 17 games. Escobar tailed off toward the end of the year, forcing me to go with a 4 man rotation. Some minor tweaks to the bullpen after McKenzie-Furto-Jimenez-Cortez will be in order. Congrats to ANA and TEX to a great damn season from both teams. Next year should be fun for everyone except our whipping boy in Oakland.
    Re: 2010 Random Ramblings
    I got knocked out of the playoffs by Brownie, but got this nice little nugget:
    Christopher Leak seems to have taken his game to the next level!
    He's now at 10-10-6-10-7 overall. After a strong rookie campaign, he's ready for a major breakthrough as a soph.
    Cletus Kassidy struggled in his brief stint, but he's almost fully developed at 7-7-10-8-6 and should be primed for a big ROY run next season.
    If my pitching can repeat last season (I expect improvement from Haruhiro but for Santacruz to take a step back) then I should have a real good chance at getting back to the playoffs.
