After taking the White Sox to a Game 7 in the World Series. Where they had two runners on in the bottom of the 9th with their slugger up as the tieing run. The NL Champion Come Back Cubbies lost. Hirsh is finally a solid ace, and the rest of the team continues to develop. They barely lost the title of youngest team going into the season. They are now the second youngest (damn Angels). After blowing the division late in the last month of the season they look to get the division crown in 2009. With $55+ million in Free Agent money plus close to an additional $30 million coming off the books after this season. The Cubs can keep their core intact for many years as long as health allows that.

My O will probably be about the same despite trading Cantu...maybe slightly worse. There just weren't any position players in FA that I really wanted. My pitching however, should keep me in it. My rotation will consist of Harden (4.0 10,8,9,9), Zambrano (4.0 9,7,8,9), Haren (3.0 7,7,9,7 out of 9,8,10,7 so he could still fill out, which he started to in the 2nd half), Francis (3.0 7,8,8,8), and Chen (2.5 6,7,8,8). All have GBPs of approximately 50 or higher. If Chen ends up getting traded, then I'd go with a 4 man.

Nope just 25. Did you count Hughes and Cooper? They are in the Triple-A and if the develop could contribute this season. As it says above their thing. Also are you double counting people in the pen? Like Everts and Dessens are in long relief and middle relief. Boley is in Middle Relief and the backup Setup guy.

You've got depth and offense out the wazzoo, too bad you're stuck in the NL. You just need Hirsch, Buck, and Edwin Jackson to come around and you'll probably have another great season.

I just wish the offense would develop. It has a lot of talent it just needs to develop. I'm still kicking myself over not trying harder to get Vlad from you last season. Because that's what I need. Since I doubt Gomes will get his 10 power back, or fill his 7 contact talent. I need a guy like Vlad who would be feared in the middle of the lineup. Which won't happen unless Pena fills out his 9-8-8-7-9 bat.
