He did get 3 great highly sought after specs. No one I've talked to says that it is an unfair offer.Originally Posted by Kingdom_of_Zito
No, but in regards to Hammer's statement and what he offered, I was just pointing out he didn't get any 5 star prospects back.
He also never gave up anything with Mauer, which was the downfall of the Atlanta trade.

Dioner Navarro is a highly sought after spec? In what world?

Then out of fairness to the others you will be Slagathor.
well, then credit to him for deciding to take zero 5 star prospects over two 5 star prospects.
It's more than likely Mauer will be back on the market.

I have made my feelings known on how stupid the TC is being on this. Apparently no deal is fair for Mauer. What would have been a fair deal in the eyes of the TC, Billingsley, and Stubbs?Originally Posted by Kingdom_of_Zito

Seriously, it's a decent amount of prospects, but with the last deal that was vetoed, I can't see myself voting yes on this one. I like the position prospect more than the C prospect offered before, and the P prospect is nice, but Mauer deserves something sure. Hell, maybe I'm overrating Mauer.

Joe Mauer...
23 years of age
9-8-5-7-7 with potential of 9-9-7-8-8
Range and Arm: 9's
Best player you gave up for him:
Joel Guzman, age 21
6-5-5-4-5 with a potential of 7-9-9-6-5
We'll pass a Mauer deal when someone actually gives up something for Mauer.

The last deal is the type of deal you make when Joe Mauer is 33 and making a lot of money. Not 23 and only earning 300k.

I think everyone is. Before I made my offer, I checked 5 OOTP leagues, and he has never been the superstar that everyone is making him out to be. I think he averages 2 seasons of 800+ OPS, with 2 all star game appearances, and the rest are only average. These leagues were extensive too, several up to the 2017 season. He isn't Albert Pujols. I'm going to predict that no one will pay enough to satisfy the TC's needs.Originally Posted by Fishercat

Depends on how everyone else feels about the additional prospect Minnesota would give up. Crain killed the first Mauer trade(I would have passed if he was left out or replaced with someone considerably less significant).
