I agree. On a lighter note, I hope to make two very big signings soon.

Man.... a majority of players would not even listen to offers from my team... not like I need much for this season, I'm pretty complete.... but methinks it may have something to do with the drop in fan interest.....

Still got a few offers in....

With this amount of high profile FA's... I'll be curious to see the average payroll of the league after this... I fully expect a buttload of BIG contracts

I can't "jinx it". If they sign with me, I made the best offer. If not, then I wouldn't want their douchebaggery in the proximity of my team anyway.

Two good Japanese players came to US. Also, I expect a war for Prior and Zambrano, although there are other good SP's.

    Subject: Your offer sounds good
I have to admit that I like your offer.
So far, it's the best one I've received.

    Regards,
    Shoutarou Sadakuno
So I increased my offer and kept the length the same...his reply:

    Date: Friday, 2/3/2009
    Subject: Contract offer
Please decrease the number of years in your
offer, otherwise I won't be interested at all!

    Regards,
    Shoutarou Sadakuno
I think something must have gotten lost in the translation

yea, I see you only made 1 offer to him though...so I can understand that. I made the same offer to him twice...the 2nd day with more money. He had no problem with the length on the 1st day, but the 2nd day he all of the sudden didn't like the length

i threw out a bunch of miniscule inexpensive contracts, and only two relatively long and expensive long term deals... to 26 year old sadakuno, who didnt care for my offer, and 27 year old doctor wily mo pena, who didnt care for my offer at first either. both of those guys would fit with the direction im gonna bring my team in the expansion draft.
